Looks like he gone for pace up front, setting up for counter attacks looking at that line up...
Get the feeling Villa could recall Revan, can't see them being happy that he's bench warming for a national league club.

4.3.3 again. No hunt thought coke may of been rested.
Posted by: quebec38, September 28, 2021, 6:57pm; Reply: 3
No Hunt will probably affect us a lot but hopefully we can create something elsewhere still. Football is a team game so it’s important to try and keep everyone happy because it’s a long season.
Bapaga got in to the game toward the end of the Eastleigh match so hopefully he can carry that on tonight. Needs to be encouraged to run at defenders more because when he does he is at his most dangerous. Stick a leg out at your peril, defenders.

We still have dangerous players all over. 1-0 to the Mariners is my prediction.

I’ve noticed that the BBC get the line-up wrong every single game. Coke at centre half, Towler on the right wing etc. Useless. They’ve not got one right yet, and the updates basically just cover goals and cards. Cack.

No out and out striker on the pitch for us.

Maybe 4-5-1 with Sousa or McAtee furthest forward and pack midfield?

This does my head in too. they did it to wrexham too and had Tozer playing right wing. Just get totally fobbed in NL...no one cares :-(

Well, we'll not get anywhere if we endlessly whack it long with that forward line. Let's hope we manage play through midfield and into spaces or it will be coming back at us a lot. A heck of a lot of graft in that midfield three.

Resting him...young lad, maybe needs a break to avoid burn out , I like Fox , capable on the ball, physically stronger and aerially better than Hunt. Linked very well with Sousa and Mcatee pre season.

Set piece delivery without Hunt could be a hindrance though.

Expected a draw at best tonight. They are a good side, especially on their own patch, but it's disappointing to go ahead in two away games and only come out of it with a point.

Was hoping they wouldn't come out firing second half, but as in a lot of games, things can change at the break.

Efete red card obviously doesn't help when you are behind.

Eighth game and first defeat. Let's go on another run now.

Not Sears yet as he has looked lost going forward and lacked composure at the back in preseason.

Second goal was entirely due this Kamakazi method of McKeown throwing the ball out short. Then their players swarm in causing panic passing from us.
Whoever it is telling McKeown to do that just stop!

Think with Sears its just a case of only being allowed 5 subs.

We have a squad bigger than 16 players so there's always going to be some that aren't involved in the matchday squad. And a right back probably isn't too high on the list of priorities for game-changing options you might need on the bench - especially as Efete has looked half decent so far.

If he's fit, he should play Saturday. I had to read the posts suggesting Crookes moving to RB twice over to check I hadn't misread it. Would be painfully awkward to watch him at right-back I'm afraid.

It would be nice to get a few clean sheets on the board away from home. Always going to be difficult tonight, especially after the red card but it does sound like an opportunity missed based on the reports of a good first half.

Hopefully, Sousa won't be out for long as he's been very good so far this season and Sears can come in and play well enough to give Hurst a difficult decision to make in a few games.

You make it sound like we haven't got enough players left to put a team out. A bit of an overreaction to picking up one injury and one suspension in tonights game isn't it?

We play bottom of the league Dover next. At home, where we have won 4 out of 4. And you can't see us picking up any points for a few games? Christ,  there's the glass half-empty view and then there's that.

It's not being critical, it's the quality of the criticism and you haven't got any. What the hell do you want from a group of players, the majority of whom were brought together in pre-season.

Many fans thought it would take time, as in weeks, to gel but no that didn't happen. We hit the floor running and are 3rd in the table, we have 10 different scorers, joint 3rd highest scorers, and in terms of spending on players, 2 stone of offal to Scunny.

Big spenders Wrexham are 6 places and 5 points behind us, Chesterfield are just above us on 1 point more and played a game more. Stockport are way below us and a team regarded as being in the big 6, Southend, are 2 places above being relegated.

So what is there to knock when Chesterfield, with all their spending, go 1 up and lose 3 - 1 and could only draw 2 - 2 with Torquay at home. Torquay the team we thumped 3 - 1 after going 1 - 0 down. Why don't you realise that we are in, probably, one of the best league positions we've been in years.

The problem with having a player like Sousa is that some teams will go down the cynical route and go out their way to injure him. Sounds like he took a bad one last night.

The suggestion of moving Crookes to RB means you are unbalancing 2 positions. I imagine RB will be Sears if he's fit, Revan or possibly Clifton.

I was absolutely convinced we’d lose last night, a mixture of two long trips, a plastic pitch and the chance to go top. I reckon this season the winner of the league will be afforded 5-6 losses maximum, 1 loss in 8 puts us right up on target and I’m not all that concerned at all. The fact Chesterfield lost leaves it all square although it would’ve been nice to put some daylight between us and the chasing pack.

The most important thing now is we give Dover a bloody good hiding and get back on the horse. I’ve said from pre-season right through, we still absolutely need another option up front. Goals all over the pitch is great but it can’t always be relied upon.

I thought we dealt with the pitch pretty well and in the first half zipped the ball around equally well even if it didn’t always come off.

I think PH called it right in that we didn’t respond well to the pivotal moments, Soussa getting kicked out of the game when he was far and away the one most likely to be the one who made the difference seemed to really derail us.

Bromley is a tough place to go, especially with the artificial pitch.

I saw someone suggest on here a week or so ago that having that first game postponed was probably a blessing in that we probably wouldn't have won it anyway.

Good teams react well. Playing a team bottom of the league presents its own challenges though.
