Come on Town.

Team news: Coke and McAtee return
Two changes for the Mariners as Paul Hurst reverts to the side that beat both Torquay and Wrexham.

Giles Coke returns in place of Ben Fox, while John McAtee is back as he replaces Will Bapaga.

TOWN: McKeown; Efete, Waterfall, Towler, Crookes; Sousa, Coke, Hunt, Clifton; McAtee, Taylor.

Subs: Pearson, Revan, Fox, Bapaga, John-Lewis.

Ok for you guys in Humberside area l can see that there might be a reason to close an hour before but l live in Leicester and dont get any commentary until kick off, so no advantage to me. I was trying to post 3 0 to town waterfall, mcatee and clifton 2875 crowd 710 away.

I may be mistaken but I understand Nathan Blissett who is on the bench for them is also the nephew of Luther Vandross.

We started well, but it sounds like we're playing like we did at Stockport, playing very flat and very deep, letting Maidenhead have far too much of the ball.

We need to pick up the tempo and get up the pitch, press Maidenhead we know how poor CBs in this league are if you put pressure on them.

Presumably ( I hope ) Hursts' tactics are to see what Maidenhead has to offer, let them use their energy up, and hit them hard in the 2nd half.

Definitely a win, we just have to be patient.

I personally think Matt is correct, I seem to remember that Franz Ferdinand was the Archduke of Austria and for some reason the band was named after him.

I typed that when we were flat but it sounds more promising now.  :)

Unfortunately couldn’t make the game today, however a point wouldn’t be the end of the world. By the sounds of it, we have been far from at our best, and the best teams pick up points when they’re not playing at their best, we didn’t play particularly great against Eastleigh, however we were able to pick up points. As long as ‘not playing at our best’ doesn’t drag on for too long, we will certainly be up there.

Disappointing disjointed performance today, we never seemed to be in fear of losing and except for taking the lead we never really looked like winning either.

Really disappointed in Hurst returning to his old ways with the Parslow sub, instead of pushing for a 2nd and securing the win.

We are still undefeated and in the top 3

Only just got back to my computer. We are unbeaten, you won't play well every week however in the grand scheme of things it's a point gained away from home rather than two lost for me.

We can slag Hurst for the defensive substitute which he does often make but as mentioned earlier on here he put Sousa on the left which is abit of a stroke as he scored his first goal. Let's take the point and move on, back to winning ways next game.

Yes I have to say my heart sank with that substitution.
I wasn't there - but it seems that usually when we swap a forward for a defender near the end of a game, & invite the opposition to come at us it goes awry.
Still though disappointed  - I accept that PH has exceeded expectations thus far & we remain undefeated. UTM.

Always happy with an away point, despite being 10mins from another win. Won't click every week, but if you can't win, don't lose. Every point counts and if we'd gone behind, then equalised, people would feel different.

Personally feel that there is still a bit of improvement to come from this side, which don't forget was only put together in the summer.

Still a great start to the season, whichever way you slice it.

Was a fortunate break away from the oppo's corner so forrnation had little to do with it I'd say. Hurst is risk averse, that's just the approach he has. I'd have been bringing on LJL to help the ball stick up top or Bapaga to give them some fresh pace to think about.  But that's just me. Considering the overall performance, we can't be unhappy with a point, just not at the races.

2 points thrown away by a negative substitution. We weren’t playing well but our width was causing them problems. The substitution made it easier for Maidenhead.

Did it? In theory 3 at the back adds extra numbers in mid field which in theory should make it harder to ply through us to their forwards.

My view isn’t about the substitutions it’s about players not doing their jobs, there is no way they should have scored a goal like that while we had 3 CB’s on the pitch.

A point away is not too bad but i do think the substitution had a say in it, im not gonna say anything negative.

Just onto the next.

From where I was sat it looked like we set up with 5 at the back so taking Sousa off took a player out of midfield, not only that but our only recognized wide player. After they scored we were sadly lacking not having a wide player and looked pretty clueless.

So for me despite the defenders not doing their job it was that substitution that did for us.

This team has given me more joy in  6 games than the previous 4 squads have in entire seasons …. I’ll forgive the odd off day , and not expect them to play well every game nor win every single game … life’s good , don’t stress over a draw UTM

As it stands Chesterfield could be top, even if we win.

Let's see if I've got it right with what I have read on various threads over the last few weeks. Hurst gathers a squad of players, some of whom people think are crap. They just need time to gel if we're lucky and if we are fortunate might, just might get us into the play off's. O, we won't score because we don't have a No. 9.

Fast forward, undefeated this season, on a roll, 10 different scorers, and 3rd in the table. But Hurst got it wrong! We didn't get the 3 points today. Then of course you could be a Wrexham fan and spend big, to lose to Town and Stockport; struggling to make 7th place.

Like it or not we're looking good, in a good place without a recognised No9. Yes, hiccups along the way but looking at the BIG teams in the league we're doing alright.

Win our game in hand we will be 8 points clear of Wrexham who have out spent all of the division by a canter. And that's only after 8 games. Keep the positivity and keep the faith ladies and gents, all for one and one for all.

Hurst will make mistakes and get things wrong, but how much has he got right so far?

They’ve also just got 1-0 up.

Tshimanga again. Looks like he is paying back that transfer fee and he could be the difference for them.

2 centre backs against 2 forwards is easy as both know who they are picking up. 3 centre backs against 2 forwards means there is always one not picking somebody up.

It appears Towler & Waterfall both left the goal scorer to each other and nobody picked him up.

Yes it was an off day, but for all his good work to date, the manager cost us that game.

I have respect for Alan Devonshire but Maidenhead are complete non-entities. Disappointing 🙁

Today…
There were at least three fights broke out with Town fans fighting each other.
Come on people let’s stick together rather than fight each other.
Take a step back and calm down if emotions are running high.
I probably prevented one young man from getting arrested today. The police were getting interested. You owe me a pint mate!

If you want to prove your credentials as a fan, you can start by giving the Trust that £200,000 back.

Fenty the Fake.

Not replying to anyone in particular but it seems to me that, after 7 games, we should look at how important and indicative the substitution was today. Maybe Paul did have a Parslow moment, maybe he did't. Lets see what he does next time a similar situation presents itslef
