Looking good for 15-20 goals from this combination. We knew Sousa was going to be good, but Taylor is ace. I’m sure someone else must’ve made the point but we’ve not had a player like him since Gary Jones.

Taylor is the new Livvo!

For different reasons, he kind of reminds me of bits of Livvo, Gary Jones and Craig Disley. I’d like to think that’s not a bad compliment.

Livvo - rugged, effective target man.
Disley - partial to a diving header.

*Both also ginger.

We have scored some great goals already this season but I think the first on Tuesday might just be my favourite.

The bit of play just before Sousa came off was unreal and deserved a goal too. When we go one touch, we are a joy to watch.

Agree with this - mainly cos it's a 'bread and butter' goal... the type all top teams need to score to be successful
Great pass - great cross - poacher's finish

Waterfall's goal is another type you need a lot of - set pieces are huge in English footy and a lot of goals are scored from them

We have loads of scoring options - and via a lot of different ways

Exciting times...

I thought that the intricate football leading up to Taylor’s goal was brilliant. Especially the through ball to Sousa, and the way he curved his run in behind to latch onto it.

Taylor looks like a great finisher and master of getting on the end of things effectively.

Brilliant

Legends corner up there the other night: Disley, McDermott, Gallimore and Buckley all there. Think AB would have loved that first one. The pass… 🤤

I've lost track a bit about these two players. Are they contracted players or on loan?

McAtee and Hunt also seem to have developed an understanding of how Sousa plays with the little one two's and passing into pockets of space for Sousa to run into. Hunt in particular has some great passing skills and has enabled Sousa to get into spaces to get a cross in. Taylor very solid and is becoming a real poacher that gets himself goalside of the defender at the right time. Think those instincts will have him banging in a few.

Really enjoying a lot of the players we've bought in so far as they compliment each other well. Those three in particular with Hunt's accurate passes, Sousa's ability to run into spaces and beat his man and McAtee with his tireless running and ball winning ability. It's a combination that will give teams a lot to deal with.

Was at the Darlo County Cup game last night and got chatting to Sousa who was watching his friend play for us.

He was saying how the energy around the club is surreal and a great place to be a part of. Nothing but complimentary towards the fans and the atmosphere you generate.

I'm gutted we lost him, but I am glad to see/hear that he's doing the business for you - Superb player. Can't wait to watch him on Saturday when I am down for the game with my little en'. Hoping for 3 points from Town.

UTM.

It looks like the right side of midfield and attack have gelled really well.

If Town can get the left hand side to be just as effective and exciting, then we are going to scare opponent defences.

If Max Wright can stay fit, he certainly has pace to burn to go on to make a spot his own, unless Harry Clifton fancies yet another position apart from in goal ???

Max showed in his little cameo that there is a player there.

Another good local player managing to get into the side will realy have the fans shouting, and if a new arrival stops Taylor from playing, then can Max be given a chance to step in down the middle ?

Options - has Hurst ever had this many to work with?

I hope he is smiling again come 5pm on Saturday !!

Come on Town - keep this great thing going !!

McAtee played most of pre-season as a 9 so if Mrs Taylor decides it's coming Saturday afternoon, McAtee will probably be the 9 and I wonder if Max will play the McAtee role.

from what i saw on Saturday a Crookes/Clifton unit looks as solid as a rock. You might not have the excitement/skill of sousa/efete but it looked remarkably effective, especially as Clfton is like a Non League version of Kante

And we have the Shop and Grant still to come back from injury.  Ironically, Hurst was going to drop Taylor until Lennie got injured.

I think you mean Kante is like a Premier League Clifton 😉

Scannell back in training too. If we can get him anywhere near the top of his game, he'd be lethal in this division.

And he is a left sided player.

Him on the left, Sousa on the right. Like the sound of that.

I remember when we had Childs and Gilbert on the wings. Terrorised opposition, and created chances from both sides of the pitch. I am not suggesting Scannell and Sousa are as good as those two (who caused many Championship teams problems) but at NL level they could soon be pulling teams apart.

100%

Without repeating myself all the time, the prospect of Scannell in this league is extremely exciting!

Although, i don't know where he plays at the moment, as they rest are doing superb

All good problems to have i guess!

Side note, the video of him in training is great!
He looks happy, and he wants to be here and play!

Looked to be blowing out his bottom to me, still be amazed if we see him play more than a dozen games this season.
