Does anyone know where I could find a list of players who will 100% be playing for us next season?   In another area of the Fishy, it says, "no players exist for 2021-2022".

There’s a good list here, but don’t necessarily expect all of those on it to be playing for us next season:

Thanks guys, appreciate it.

The two new guys both play on the right.

I think we still need a left back, a left winger, a central mid fielder and a forward who knows where the net is.

Then I think we will have a very decent squad.

No, he was in our youth team last season and offered a contract but hasn't signed anything. I reckon the likelihood is that he wants a L2 club. Also Codalmighty have spelt that wrong I think? It's Khouri, isn't it? With an i.

Hmm, who was I thinking of then, someone on loan from Wolves maybe?

Terry Taylor? Khouri got let go by West Ham and Jolley signed him the summer before he got sacked, I think.

I am sure we can all think of plenty of players that we should get rid of to bring that number down.

I am sure several will be leaving one way or another.

Think this is how the squad will be seen so far.......

SENIOR SQUAD

Goalkeepers
JAMES MCKEOWN
SAM RUSSELL

Right Back
MICHEE EFETE
RYAN SEARS

(Because of the 2 signings above, I am expecting an announcement that Luke Hendrie's contract offer has been withdrawn and/or he is signing for another team)

Left Back
* NEW SIGNING

Centre Back
SHAUN PEARSON
DAVID LONGE-KING
LUKE WATERFALL

Centre Midfield
GILES COKE
BEN FOX
HARRY CLIFTON
DANNY ROSE - Would be surprised if still at club before season starts
* NEW SIGNING.

Wingers
ERICO SOUSA
MAX WRIGHT
GEORGE WILLIAMS
FILIPE MORAIS - Would be surprised if still at club before season starts
SEAN SCANNELL - Pre-season is going to be a huge factor on whether he will be involved in the first team this season.
* NEW WINGER

Strikers
LENELL JOHN-LEWIS
RYAN TAYLOR
JOHN MCATEE
IRA JACKSON-JNR
* NEW STRIKER

SQUAD OF 24 PLAYERS WITH 4 MORE SIGNINGS TO COME UNLESS MORE DEPARTURES

______________________

UNDER 23s
Young Pro's and Youth Players expected to be in the development squad

OLLIE BATTERSBY
JOE STARBUCK
JAZ GOUNDRY
DUNCAN IDEHEN
EVAN KHOURI - (Should he sign)
LUIS BOYD
LUKE SPOKES
BEN GRIST
MONTEL GIBSON
LUIS ADLARD

Looking at that list, we can already put together a tasty looking starting 11.

We don't have a left back, but Clifton played there last season and did pretty well.

So would I go with:-

Macca

Clifton, Pearson, Longe-King, Efete

Wright, Coke, Fox, Sousa

LJL, Taylor

More players to come in, but it's starting to shape up.

I don't know why people are hanging onto this notion that Scannell has still got a future here. Easily the worst signing of last season.

Hurst has already stated Russell is a coach and he doesn't see him as backup keeper I believe.

Williams and Gibson will not be considered to be part of first team plans - he left the bench short of a player rather than include them last season

Everyone else offered at least something for at least a game or two though.

I called it the day we signed him, if anyone can be arsed to find the thread (I can't seem to be able to search that far back). He'd been crap and a crock for ages before we brought him in.

Haha you tell em SOC and there red crosses.

Tbf i do think on paper a good signing, but im going on his ability, but that has been over taken by his CBA attitude and oh my poorly knee.

I’ll see your Scannell, and raise you a Virgil Gomis and ‘gender reveal party’ Gibson

Scannel was always going to be a massive gamble. He’d been plagued by injury and been playing previous seasons at a higher level.

On paper he was a good signing if he could’ve stayed fit, but, with hindsight he just moulded into the oblivion of the ‘can’t be arsed/waste of money’ signings.

Just imagine how much we would’ve had to fork out for Charlie Adam if he’d have come!

I think Scannel could be important, who knows with a settled mentally stable manager at the helm he could prosper. not sure why people write him off?

For me im looking forwards to seeing Luke Spokes and Ira Jacksons progress this year, think with those better players around them they could turn out to be gems.

McAtee, Taylor and Lenny are all ahead of Ira Jackson/Montel Gibson and that's without any further signings. I'd be surprised if either of those two were anywhere near our first team without an injury crisis to be honest. Jackson showed some promise but is he good enough to be in a promotion-hunting Conference team? Jury out. Gibson? Definitely not for me.

Think Jackson has been usurped by the signing of Sousa, but you never know. It can't be denied that he's worked extremely hard on his physique and his game over the last season and it may pay off for him eventually. I personally think he is further down the pecking order and may well be moved on.

Cant see Jackson forcing his way in myself, Hurst clearly didn't rate him in an abysmal squad that just had to finish 3rd from bottom. With his own squad and the aim to be champions or playoffs at least I think he will demand far better. Good luck to the lad though

He wasn't the only crock we signed.
