Had not heard of him but that highlight video looks mighty impressive, big, strong tough defender and also looks very composed in the ball.

Can’t wait for the new season now.

Another young player who wants to improve and learn.

Hopefully does as well as Menayese.

Welcome.

i think its also worth noting that both DLK and BF were encouraged to sign for us from ex players, especially on how PH & CD operate.  Long may it continue.

That's how I saw him too, very rarely hoofed the ball when he won it but played carefully weighted balls to those in front of him.  Definitely looks promising.

Yes, I noticed that he has grown an inch already.  Good that Hurst had previously been impressed by him and his potential.  Good that Podge spoke well of him to Hurst and that Podge recommended Hurst to the player.  Mutual Appreciation Society.  😀

Well congratulations to everyone. His name was not mentioned in daily rumours anywhere. Bit of a sneak under the radar this one.

From his highlight video he looks like a man mountain....a brick wall etc etc

Let's hope with these central defenders being signed they ease Waterfall further down the pecking order to the point he wants to leave

I’m just glad to see a highlight reel of someone actually playing football, putting themselves about, booting a few people up in the air rather than a preening waif clipping diagonal balls out into space.

We must have the biggest pairings in the centre of defence with Longe-King at 6ft 7ins  and Pearson at 6ft 6ins.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that hurst has had  a good look at National League attacks   and has concluded he primarily needs 2 big ,solid ,brave centre halves, one of whom needs to have pace and a pass as part of his skill set

He looks a bit raw at the moment but can certainly get stuck in. Should improve vastly if playing alongside an experienced centre back. I can see Hurst's intentions with the future in mind.  Good signing.

Nice to read that both signings are "decent prospects" from the respective forums than the usual  "I would drive him up there myself" we usually get.

He should have the pace to cover Pearson. He wants to improve his positioning and Pearson is a good talker on the pitch. We've also got 2 former full backs on the coaching staff plus Doig who was a centre half.

And if he's on the treatment table, our physio was a defender too!

If you can have faith in Hurst on anything, it has to be signing defenders. Yeah, you can point to the odd Jamal Fyfield and his old favourite Danny Parslow, but even the world’s top managers have the odd duff signing in their locker.

In his time with us previously he signed Shaun Pearson, Nathan Pond, Conor Townsend (twice), Ian Miller, Tom Naylor, Carl Magnay, Toto Nsiala, Josh Gowling, Richard Tait and Danny Andrew - and there are quite a few honourable mentions missing from that list too.

His success record with defenders, many of whom arrived with relatively little fanfare, is remarkable.

Tall, Agile, Fast, and an all round good defender.

Nsiala wasn't everyone's cup of tea, but if he's even half the player he is, then we've got a good player on our hands

This made me laugh. About the 5th or 6th clip in, playing against a team in blue shirts and green shorts.  Chasing this forward into the penalty area and the it's like," GTFO of my penalty area".  Big strong lad.

I think with this signing we can sadly now rule out any return for Rollin Menayese..........but could you just imagine Pearson, Longe-King and Menayese as a back 3!!!!!!!

Couldnt go round, couldnt got through, couldnt go over.
