Thought he was going to hang around for a while. I'm sure we'll cope.

Glad he's gone to be honest the last man standing from the worst regime in the clubs long history.

That's hilarious to be fair, I'd love to know what's gone on since the Takeover that has made him renege on his agreement to stay...  or the maybe new regime has quickly identified he's not the right fit for the new culture and he's out on his ear.

Stockwood's statement says he's done the handover and that's that.

Philip Day has resigned from the Board of Directors of GTFC with immediate effect.

On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Philip for his long service to the club. On a personal note, Andrew and I would like to thank him for playing a significant role in ensuring the recent transaction went smoothly. We wish him and his family well for the future and he will always be welcome at Blundell Park.

Probably not much for him to do now that he doesn't have to post Fenty's statements on the OS.

I think the plan was for him to stay as long as needed to pass on everything he knew. I guess it didn't take as long as they expected.

Guess that’s the appeal to the EFL lost then?

I'm guessing a few things were said about our former Chairman in the fans survey either he didn't like or Stockwood and Pettit didn't like and they've allowed him to resign from the board rather then be pushed to save face

Or just as likely it took just as long as they expected for him to impart all his wisdom!  ;)

If that was the case he'd have been out of the door by about 3.15 on May 5th.

Our new owners or their rep at the club have seen up close and personal what Day is all about … and he’s gone thank fuk

I'm guessing Day, as a solicitor, instigated the appeal against relegation, as JS confirmed last week it was a historical thing and something neither he nor AP started.

I know Day doesn't think much to social media but it was pretty clear to me that while a lot of us thought it was worth asking the question, none of us felt entirely comfortable about it. JS saying they'd abstain from any vote distanced him and AP from it.

My instinct is that he's left a little sooner than JS and AP were expecting (perhaps annoyed they didn't back the legal challenge? Then again, you'd think that would've been discussed during the takeover, so I'm probably wide of the mark).

Also thanks for your input and expertise over the years ensuring the below was done to maintain the reputation and standing of our great club;

Perhaps the new guys have installed a coffee/tea vending machine and Mr.Day isn't happy now with just having the staff boggs to clean.

Perhaps JS & AP realised what a mess Day made of Covid and called his bluff about the appeal?

or

F man sent out an emergency call  MayDay, MayDay, MayDay ;)

Takeovers can become messy. Usually no omelette without eggs etc.
Just think we’ve now got a superior intellectual running things instead of big fish/ small pond syndrome.

Still will be Rocky, but a much better chance of success in my opinion

"There's no reason we can't be in the Championship in 5 years". Well there is a reason Phil- you and the rest of the board were making the decisions.

"He only defrauded businesses". That statement was bad enough, but a quick 5 minute Google session would have shown that there were plenty of "ordinary" victims.

"I'm 80% sure that Extreme Leisure will deliver a new stadium". Enough said.

Just three of the highlights of Phil's tenure.
