Well who'd have thought it.

After today's magnificent win against Bolton we are only 4 points behind Colchester now.

Dare we believe?

Come on Walsall.

Colchester have to score now.  A home defeat must sap their confidence for the remaining games.

Don't think games should be played at staggered times this close to the end of the season. Gives teams an advantage knowing what they have to do.

Walsall will want to win this though as they would be all but safe with 3 points today.

Philips death was a bit unplanned so the changed times were a late decision.

HT....Colchester 2-1 Walsall

Still think we have a chance if Walsall can get a draw but if it stays as it is we've had it.

Agreed.

Would be typical on the day of our best performance of the season.

The fact we have took 41 games for our best performance to appear is the key fact.

Southend must win on Tuesday to give a chance.  We can finish above Southend anyway with some good play, goals and luck.

2 awful teams. Watching Walsall reminds me of pre Christmas town. Tapping the ball around at the back with no one up top to look after it.

Blatant penalty for Walsall not given in the last minute. Typical

To be fair, and clutching about a million straws, if someone goes bust or something, 2nd bottom might get a reprieve.

A woeful result, Walsall sounding flipping dreadful...we can argue the reasons for us going down and probably deserving too but to be honest, it’s the first Saturday in weeks when I’ve watched town, we played well all game. Every single player battled and we won.

I’ll take that...and remember, the ducking idiot running/ruining the club for the last 20 years is on his way out...

Need a Southend win on Tuesday now, and we could be four points behind Colchester with a game in hand.

Bottom line is that we need to string a run of wins together and see where it leads.

After the constant up and down of the last couple of months, I’d accepted we were relegated. We win today and I’m back up again. Then Colchester.

This is ruining what’s left of my mental health.

It’s particularly sickening being relegated into a league with no relegation, and in place of a club £30 million in debt.

Well take solace in the fact that the outgoing board acted in the best interests of the club at all times , by not spending any money to ensure our survival so we could eventually get relegated.

Bunch of c***s
