Nothing too much to moan about 2 strikers. 2 attacking wingers, the same back 4 who looked a million times better then previous ones the last few months, just a shame Green is still wasting a space on the bench

There is absolutely no obstruction whatsoever there. It’s just gone straight in from the corner with perhaps a slight flick off someone’s head.

Seen much more impeding on the keeper not being given, on most days that would have been a goal. Just got the lino today who wants to make the game about himself. I guess for our next goal the 4th official will come running on the pitch.

Hoping and praying we can do what we havnt done enough off and string two decent 45 mins together now.

Expecting  Coke, Lamy , Habergham & LJL to fade.

Subs will be crucial this evening....at least we have the wind now which should help us relieve pressure when clearing.

Despite that being half to half the best performance in quite some time we were the architects of our own undoing. Going defensive and sitting back was a dumb decision but we also needed to take the chances we had better, can see the players thinking it's an injustice with a late equaliser and a disallowed goal early on which was a questionable decision.

For me I think again the subs were wrong late on, should have refreshed our attacking options and pushed on, not put more defenders on and sat back.

That's done me in. The commentators called it well, we played right into their hands. Hadn't been able to put us under any real pressure all day, so what was the need to throw another centre back on. Them lumping it into our box was the only way they were ever going to score. Fuming.
Posted by: sonofmadeleymariner, March 9, 2021, 9:02pm; Reply: 231
intercourse off Hurst! Negative subs for a negative result. All you had to do was make like for like subs keep the successful shape bringing fresh legs on and keep pressing high!

No you bring a CM on the wing and go for that stupid lobsided 442 then make the Parslow Maneuver go 532 and sit on the edge of our own area.

Had enough now, we looked good, we looked like we deserved to win for a change and you go and throw it away like that.
Posted by: Abdul19, March 9, 2021, 9:02pm; Reply: 232
Carlisle were awful. No threat whatsoever, so absolutely no need to change things. As needless as bringing Rob Jones on at Rochdale in 2006. At the moment, I'd rather we'd lost 5-0.
Posted by: moosey_club, March 9, 2021, 9:02pm; Reply: 233
Lack of quality on the bench and the managers inner defensive mindset costing us tonight after a good battling strong performance.  We looked tired from 60 mins but with very limited options Hurst hardly had any quality to bring on so leaves tiring players on, conceding more and more ground and possession....which then makes him think we need Waterfall on......who just gets in the way at that throw in and the points are lost.

Hard on the starting team that result after they all worked so hard to get us in a winning position.

Gutted for them.

Its just not meant to be for us this season.

Needed a 2nd goal for the win as we always concede.  An example of why I voted not to have Hurst next season.  And he is too cautious, which only encourages the opposition.
Posted by: Kris2, March 9, 2021, 9:04pm; Reply: 236
Another game where we had that Adams kid on the bench that looked good on the ball and he remains unused. Yet somehow we make these really silly defensive subs when we can see what's working against them. They were getting done all night by midfielders with pace who are good with the ball at feet. Just stick another one on and tell them to run at the defence.

I’ve been a supporter of Hurst in his 2 spells with the club but after that he can intercourse off!!

Most people bring on an outlet he brings on a donkey and invites more pressure on already knackered players.

The players where excellent tonight but their manager let them down, I seem to recall Carlisle away was where it started to turn around for Jolley, after that it might be where it ends for Hurst & us.

It's Danny flipping Parslow all over again. It's too often countwr-intuitive because you cede territory, you cede initiative, you cede an outlet. Bring on fresh legs in the defence, sure, but don't bring on more defenders just to intercourse with the shape, especially when it's a defender who has been dire by his own standards for far too long. Unbelievably frustrated.

Agree regarding many other managers on the time wasting but Hurst has eons of form for sitting back and jeopardising slender leads when on top. I was at Chester.

On the positive note - we were playing the rock bottom form team in our division and we mustered two shots on target...

I think any lingering hope I had vanished tonight.

We now have 14 games left and probably need to win 8 of them.

Our manager can't see the glaringly obvious  1 goal is never enough. We simply can't soak up pressure without conceding. We just can't. The only way to defend is to keep the ball in the opponents half.

As everyone has pointed out, Hurst is just too negative. To drop points tonight was absolutely criminal.

I didn't comment on the Fishy at the time because I am busy watching the game not my phone. Son Of and I said to each other here we go 9 defenders its only a matter of time till we concede, we are sat way too deep and giving them as much time as they want to get it wide and cross it.
