It's the morning after another defeat and I began to look at the similarities between the two. We have a ghost ship floundering on an ocean with no clues how it came to be. We have town floundering in a league with no clue have to save the club.

We still have existing owner JF who will do nothing as he is leaving. From his point of view I presume why should he, he's getting his £2.5 million so why worry. I do not agree with that sort of attitude as it is still his club and he is still responsible but his foot is halfway out of the door.

Then we have the consortium who want to own the club but don't. They are responsible for nothing after all the club is not under their custodianship so regardless of what they desire and want they are powerless.

So we have no captain like the Mary Celeste, just a first mate Hurst. I thought he would be good for the club, rescue us from the perils of free fall into the depths of NL. But no he has failed. It has been insinuated on this site that he was a cheap option for Fenty, possibly true. It has been mooted that the consortium were mostly responsible for his coming back. I don't know the truth will never be known but if it was the consortium then their may be a problem. Business men are well know for hiring people and letting them do their thing. Then after a few weeks if a situation has not improved they say thank you for trying but you have to go, we'll try something else! But the consortium don't own the club, yet.

We then have the crew, commonly called a team. Master mariners who like the crew of the Mary Celeste have gone missing on the pitch. They were brought in by a seasoned knowledgeable manager but struggle to ties knots in their boots.

Then what about us. Seasoned supporters who have been on high's and lows. We have no control over the running of the club, we just pay our money into the kitty and no returns. We voice our opinions and nobody at the club takes notice and why? Simple really nobody is at the helm.

The Mary Celeste was found abandoned and I hope the same fate doesn't happen to us. Not abandoned as such but marooned in the NL. I will never give up hope of stay in league 2 but this morning even my optimism is stretched, that's until Friday.

The main difference between this Club and the Mary Celeste is that the latter was just found drifting.  No one has any idea what happened.

This Club will founder on the rocks and it is clear to everyone what happened, when and why.
