Fook knows.
We get some back from injury and lose others. It's never ending.
Not having Waterfall, Morais and Bennett available yesterday was another blow. Bennett sounds like he's out for the forseeable, and we don't really have a natural left sided midfielder.
Hard to pick a formation with what we have available. Hope we can get one or two in for Tuesday.

13 youth team, highly enthusiastic, motivated, passionate players who care for the club. Want the shirt and a future; as for the rest of a first squad drop em off at the job centre.
I'd rather a team lose with passion and effort than trot around like headless chickens, saving their energy to sprint for their pay cheques.

Without knowing who's available to start, I'll hold off. Absolutely not prudent to start with Hanson though, as tempting as it would be. The next game against Stevenage is as important, as are all other games. No need to risk him so shortly after his return.

Matete is a league 1 level player, you could tell instantly.
Use to lad as much as possible.
Wright needs to up his game now, I rate the lad a lot, but nows the time to stand up and be noticed.
'Rest' Pollock, the transfer rumours have clearly had an impact on the lad
Hanson is good with his feet just as much as in the air, so avoid the hoof ball

Avoid the hoofball unless it is from out wide. The Lincoln philosophy of throwing as many balls into the box as possible could reap some rewards with Hanson up there. He desperately needs something to attack if we are to get the best out of him. Get in as many crosses as we possibly can and back him up.

100%, get the ball in the box from Morias and Wright, just not from Pollock and Macca

There’d be some irony if we played 5-3-2 against Jolley.

If Waterfall is fit, I wouldn't be surprised to see us go with three centre halves.

Injuries again.. Morais, Bennett, Williams and Scannell are all clever footballers who are good on the ball, see a pass and can beat a man, and beating a man opens up so many more options than passing from side to side or backwards and then hoofing it. Two of the four out injured again. At some time I'd like to see at least three of these or even four in the same team to see what they can do together with Matete and a ball winner behind them, even if it means Scannell playing as a false nine like Firmino at Liverpool or Kane latterly at Spurs..

Wright and Morais (if fit) as impact subs for Scannell and Williams
No width admittedly so I'd switch to 442 with Wright and Morais on flanks 2nd half if formation shows no signs of fruition, with Williams or Gibson slightly deeper than Hanson

Apparently he looked clueless for Clee. Someone who plays for them apparently described him as a bad Matt Green.

Well.. today I've seen that the BBC are teaching (indoctrinating) nine year olds that there are over 100 different genders and a respected GTFC supporter picking an unproven out of depth centre forward at right midfield instead of Max Wright or Scannell.
Currently wondering if the world has indeed gone completely mad..

Think we need to put in a more experienced team and more energy up front. Id go with this....
McKeown
Hendrie Menayese Pollock Habergham
Morais Matete Rose Scannell
Hanson Gibson / new striker
Think 2 natural wingers with experience, sure up with Rose in the centre and ask Gibson to run the channels and his socks off up top and hopefully we can get a result. The team have so much to prove

Taking it that Clifton and Morais are unfit, Hanson and Habergham need a rest, loathed to play a forward for the sake of playing a forward, they don't score or contribute to teamplay anyway. Use Williams as a floating false nine and play Scannell and Wright more advanced when we've got the ball. Get our best available players in the starting eleven..

Green has been playing as a false striker all season! Oh, and last season too.

Back four pretty much picks itself, if Waterfall is fit he plays. If not, Pollock.
Ahead of that it's just lobbing a load of darts at the board and hoping a few land the right way up. Rose added some composure when he came on but he also slows things down for me. He looks far better in that holding role but then he doesn't really offer any protection in that position, players just ghost past him. Without wingers, your full backs are under more pressure which means your centre-backs are often dragged a bit further wide. As the holding midfielder you, at times, become the only central barrier between the opposition and the goal. Rose doesn't offer that. However I wouldn't know what else to suggest.
Matete is a shoe-in, to partner him probably Spokes.
In attack I think there's only 3 players who look capable of offering anything, especially who are fit (or something like fit). That's Hanson, Wright and Scannell. Problem is all 3 are made of glass and coming back from lay-offs. Maybe give all three 60 minutes, hope we've had enough of an impact and then bring on Williams, Jackson and Gibson to be fresh legs.
Actually, thinking about it. If we're playing Hanson we need to play to strengths. He looked his best when he first signed because we had quality deliveries into him, namely from Hewitt at right-back. Hewitt had a stinker on Saturday but in all honesty Hendrie wasn't much better and gave Devarn Green far too much freedom. Hewitt at right-back, Habergham at left-back and just pepper the box with deliveries from deep for Hanson. Wright and Scannell following up for the balls behind or the knock-downs. A high press from Matete and Spokes for anything else that falls loose.
In goal, not impressed with either McKeown or Russell at the minute. McKeown looks a shadow of himself whereas whenever Russell plays he looks like what he is, a goalkeeping coach who has kept his hand in by playing in the tin-pot trophy against Under 23 sides. Could be a flip of the coin but I'd probably got McKeown.

That's Ira Jackson jr who scored 24 goals in 36 matches during 2019/20 season for Folkestone Invicta where he played
Right Wing.

I don't think we'll see 4-4-2 again anytime soon. Whenever we play that formation with the current crop we get overloaded in midfield. I think 4-1-4-1 with 2 fast wide players is the way Hurst will go.
Coincidentally that's the formation he used to great success at Shrewsbury.

Because I later said we need to play to the strengths of Hanson, which is balls into the box. Personally, I think Hewitt delivers a better ball than Hendrie.
All about opinions.

Woooooaaahh there (that's English for stop a horse)! I also did not do any basic research and I tend to pride myself on my (very) basic research. So why has he come to us as an assumed centre forward and nothing else? This is brand new information.

Apart from us being generally cr@p, the injury situation is very concerning. We get some back and others break down. One has to wonder what is going on when we can't field the same team for a run of games at any time in the season.
