Another massive game, aren't they all.

Listening to the Scunny fans on Humberside they sound as downbeat as us.

Good that Scannell and Hanson are back in contention.

Hope Hurst manages to get at least another one of his targets in before the local derby.

Think they have more to worry about than Town

Let’s hope so.

With Wright, Scannell, Hanson and Morais available for next week, that is a good base to build on. The new full back seems to have bolstered the defense.

We desperately need a couple of creative ball winning central midfield players, plus someone more potent up front.

Hurst has said he need 6 or 7 new players, and that will take time to negotiate, but I think that if we could just get the three I mentioned above in quickly to complement what we already have it would make a world of difference. Especially in the next three matches when we are playing pretty poor sides.

Not sure what scunny fans have seen to make them edgy about playing Town

In the last 6 games they have lost to us, Mansfield, Stevenage and Barrow- all teams that are, or were, struggling when they played them. That'll be why.

Didnt they also beat Barrow in the reverse fixture

With a few players now returning I feel better about this game but I’m still dreading it. I don’t always enjoy derby games as it is (unless after we’ve one) and the fact it also affects our football league status makes it worse.

Scunny favourites with the bookies.
Our odds of 9/5 look generous......

Got my little bet on a GTFC win before the odds drop because of PH's signings this week.

Junior Brown got sent off as well for them on Saturday

It appears they are in more trouble than ourselves. They need strengthening but Swann on record re no funds. Hopefully three points to take us above them on Saturday!

All I'll say is that I think it'll make the Southend game look like Man U v Bayern Munich

If they are in that much trouble, can I suggest we do a crowd fund for them, I have just been to toilet and knocked out the biggest turd I’ve ever seen, I will willingly donate it!!!

I hope posters are correct .But does anyone think scunny or any other team are in a worse position than us .Yes we are not bottom yet but with southends recent form we will be .

2 Weeks into the transfer window and 1 player signed when teams all around us in league 2 are signing players and quality players looking at them .

Hurst sort of admitting it may not happen as he is finding it difficult to secure players

Our seeming inability to attract players is concerning, Hurst said he needed 8 players, meaning we need 1 per working day from now until the window shuts. On top of that we’ve 3 teams around us to play in a week, whilst still relying on Matt Green.

Doesn't matter how many times you say we need new players- if they aren't available to us for whatever reason, then there is not a lot Hurst can do about it. I'm sure he's trying his best to find them.

I've no doubt he's trying his best. At the end of the window the reasoning of 'we didn't sign a striker because we didn't find one' never has and never will wash imo.

I'm very hopeful we do, but we're in a grave situation if we don't.

Hello Norseman, may I initiate you into the land of red X world. Firstly as you will find out, as I did that the X gang are not fans or supporters of Town. Regardless of how positive or optimistic your comment are they will only give you a X.

This is not because of your comments but for their own juvenile glorification. Everybody in this democratic society is entitled to a view, but it is how you express the view that counts. You will find that somewhere around 95%+ are genuine supporting fans with the interest of Town at heart. If they disagree they'll tell you why which is very pleasing because you know why they don't agree with you .

Unfortunately we then have the X band. Now, in my opinion, they are nothing but morons. You could of course describe them as ars..h.es but then your anus is very efficient at distributing excrement; which of  is useful to get the toxins etc. They are not Sh.t of course because they are not useful.

So please don't bite because it fuels their low down ego upon which they are looking up to the gutter. Above that on the way to utopia are the true passionate Town Fans. Thinking of a) survival and b) promotion next year.

So X band how do you mark this post? A big X means you disagree so what you are saying is the post is right. On the other hand a tick means you agree..

As for you Norseman nil carborundum desperandum.

suspect that Hurst has been none too impressed with what he's been left by Holloway. In his preview he sounded quite astounded by the length of contracts that had been given out to players who still need to prove themselves. i don't know if he included George Williams in this, but was certainly aimed at Jackson and Gibson

Once the get beyond this season, hopefully surviving relegation, ive checked out the players contracts on codalmighty and theres only 9 senior players contracted beyond this season, so Hurst can effectively  have a clean slate next term. That comment does seemingly look to be aimed at the Gibsons, Jackson Jnr and Williams of the squad, though i believe with Hurst/Doig training the 3 could improve and with better players around them.
