He’s certainly a character. However this is all rather embarrasing. He’s saying he’s fit and wants to play, i havent a clue whats going on

Pretty sure Holloway said he was helping him find another club........that could easily be the case and until he does he is still ours....I guess we cant afford to pay up contracts and why would he walk for anything less than he has a binding contract for?

Also as his current employer has publicly stated he isnt fit, is struggling to meet demands of the manager,  has cost us goals as he is so out of shape and basically made a mistake by signing him in the first place then it's hardly a glowing page on his c.v is it?
So I guess he needs to put something out to make it look like he is ready to go and keen to play and make it look more like it's just a personal thing that Holloway isnt playing him.

All ways up this latest "cull" development has been very poorly handled imo and I am sure we are only at the start of some bad blood being developed.

I think his phrasing on twitter is telling. "I get on with my team mates very well so there's no issue whatsoever....."
Posted by: MarinerDevil, November 22, 2020, 8:00pm; Reply: 10
Yeah this is probably a misunderstanding.  He was replying to James Findlater's tweet which stated that he had 'left' the club and he was attempting to clear up the situation because he will apparently continue to train with us until he finds a new club.  No need for the histrionic "See you at Cheapside", mind, but he seems to be that sort of bloke.

It does look to me like Mohsni’s on a wind-up and knows the videos will be popular with fans. Whatever happens tomorrow at least it’s injected some excitement into a season that’s already over.

I have a couple of mates that are Southend STH who reckoned he was a great signing for us.

One of them told me “if we had players like him we’d not be in trouble”.

Ironic or what ?

Just resigned to the inevitable more than anything. It’s going to take a seriously good turnaround to survive cause we look clueless.

Herts: my mate is a Rangers STH and I’ve kept him updated on all things Mohsni. He’s a cult hero up there with his lot but not for footballing reasons. Again though said he would be good for us.

I just think this has been entirley mishandled. Why does Holloway need to talk about this. Until the player is out the door, why say a word?

If I recall the interview right, Holloway was directly asked who had left and he responded with hesitation by giving up the two names....it's then like he can't help himself and went onto explain more.  The correct answer would have been that he couldn't disclose that information until it was all signed.

It's telling that no media sources, including the club website, ran it before and even then official site has only added it as a footnote at the bottom of the reaction news piece to the game.  I think I would probably prefer it if Holloway doesn't give interviews anymore.  It just opens up a can of worms, it's a bit unprofessional as well to state in an interview that Mohsni isn't fit or reached the standards expected.  You can argue it's honesty but largely just not needed.

I highly suspect Mohsni is in fact on his way out.  I was told earlier this year that his contract was dependent on him reaching certain fitness levels with a get-out in place for January.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if the club are going to exercise that right but allow him to keep fit at the club in the meantime, which would fit in with Holloway's comments about helping him find a club.

The video on Cleethorpes beach was laughable for a couple of reasons, one that it quite clearly wasn't yesterday as he perhaps hoped to suggest (it was beautifully clear skies all day in Cleethorpes yesterday) and the fact that he was absolutely blowing after a couple of shuttle runs!

Assuming he is gone...

It's just another name to add to the list of players who have come to BP having played a good calibre of football in the past but hasn't lived up to expectations.

He made the preliminary Tunisia World Cup 2018 squad, and given his exploits at Southend and Rangers you'd be forgiven in thinking he would be leading the line from game 1 and be a solid addition.

On the flipside he has had 5 or 6 clubs since leaving Rangers in 2015, known of which he has played more than 14 times for a team, so it could tell us that we should have expected this kind of thing to happen.

I would like to be a fly on the wall at Cheapside today.

Very poor judgement by Holloway that said he could have given him a few more games, he couldn't be any worse than those who have played. I thought I read somewhere that he could play up front as a target man so he could have been tried in place of 'the crock' Hanson

Thing what p! Sses me off is he looks exactly what we need right now.

Experience and leadership. Someone who is gonna get the lads going, from the feedback at previous clubs he certainly gives it everything.

So weird this.

Not sure to what level Mohsni would be as a forward, not expecting him to be another Paul Warhurst when he was at Wednesday.

but again it comes back to the argument of why are we not giving opportunities to other forwards in the squad when the likes of Matt Green is quite obviously past his best, James Hanson is constantly injured and the others aren't scoring regularly.

Ira Jackson scored more goals than he played games last year, Touray Sisay was supposedly hot property when we signed him, and we've got the lad Virgil Gomis on loan from Forest who can't even get in the match day squad. Granted we don't see what happens in training but there are certain players who are getting very limited chances in a spell where we are playing poorly. How bad are these guys if they aren't getting a sniff?

Play him up front if he's still under contract and clearly intending to see it out, absolutely nowt to lose, can't be any worse than 'Grimsby Town NIL'

I was told one minute by John Fenty that was agreed, and the next minute it wasn’t agreed.

As far as I’m concerned, I think Ludvig is agreed and his is sorted, and I’m not sure about Mohsni’s, he was in training this morning.

Look which non-chairman, who has taken a step back from the club is pulling the string. Surely it should be the CEO or chairman sorting that stuff out?

Surely the manager / director should know what is going on with every aspect of the club instead of saying it's not his concern. He should make it his concern. For all the hype, he has done nothing for this club (except perhaps delay the inevitable) We have a worse team now than when he came. He makes out that he is the saviour but is he really a yes man .He definitely hasn't impressed me.

The problem seems to be that it is now THREE MONTHS since Ollie signed him, and as a senior professional, it is unbelievable that he has not become match fit enough to play a full game. THREE MONTHS!!!

I can totally understand why Ollie has previously said what he has said about Mohsni. It must be infuriating for Ollie, that the one player that he had so much hope for, the first player he signed for Grimsby, even calling him his a leader, and his 'Virgil van Dyke', and he has failed on every level.

Once you look beyond the man of the people but I think you’ve called it about right.

I’m trying to remain optimistic but every time I see us we look like we’ve regressed further. I wouldn’t have a clue who are best 11 is and I don’t think IH is any closer to knowing, in his defence some of that is down to having the likes of Hanson, Hewitt, Tilley, Edwards and Wright all out injured.

Now it looks like we’re being true to form off the pitch too.
