Interesting article on Danish side FC Midtjylland and their approach to buying players.

The most ridiculous thing I got from it, especially after hearing Ollie bemoan ours, is that teams in the upper echelons have a coach specifically for throw ins.

I thought the bit about the new club forming from two bitter rivals was....interesting. Imagine if John Fenty suggested we merge with Scunthorpe...forming some sort of Humber FC!

There is a thought to bring in kick-ins instead of throw-ins in your OWN half only.

The idea being that throw-ins can have limited advantage when you have 9 outfield options to receive the ball when the opposition have 10.  Generally, you are also throwing upfield where the opposition are facing the ball.

Another potential benefit is that the ball might be kept in play more.

It's the same no. of options for somebody taking a free kick though isn't it SNAFU5?  Someone has to take it.

We used to drive past their stadium when we visited our Danish relatives.

They told us it was two teams emerging as one.

I can not see that happening at home I said.

Pretty much every team in the UK with the name 'united' is as a result of 2 clubs (or more) merging somewhere in the mists of time.
