Just a reminder that it's a 7pm kick off again tonight. These appear to be coming the norm now as only 1 game in League 2 kicks off at the usual 7.45 tonight.

Wasn’t Macca a striker in the Villa youth set up before going in nets?

Close, it was Coventry.

Quoted Text
McKeown started his career with Coventry City as an Under-10 striker in their youth system, he went on trial in goal and spent two years in their Under-11s before being released. He eventually moved on to Walsall in their Under-15s setup, but failed to make a first team appearances before his departure in 2007.

Anyone know when 19:45 became the norm? It always makes me laugh to myself when non-football fans ask "what time does it kick off?" because the answer for clubs like Town is always 3pm  or 7:45pm depending on the day. Until now that is, when we too have to ask!

Have to say I much prefer 7pm with starting work at 5 am. Shame it’s not this way alll the time

Good question as it was historically 7.30pm with 10 minutes for half time. Think half time changed with the advent of live tv to accommodate more advert opportunities and I think 7.45pm was brought in to allow fans more time between finishing work and kick off but cannot for the life of me if that is a load of tosh and when it was first introduced. Do think Scunny have always stuck with 7.30pm assume so night shift workers, both of them, can attend.

Towns home game against Leicester in the FL Trophy has now been brought forward to a 7pm kick-off.

Pretty sure in the early 80s it was still 19:30 kick offs and the 19:45 thing happened around AB1

I remember when Torquay's Saturday games always used to kick-off at 7.30pm.

Not sure how long ago that was though or when they reverted to the standard 3pm.
