What 3 qualities do you think Holloway needs to address once we start signing players?

For me, it has to be pace, long throw and set piece delivery.

We are quite a slow team. Holloway addressed that a little bit with the signing of Garmston and Tilley. Good set piece takers and long throw specialists are so effective at any level. Hewitt has a decent throw on him but he's not been a regular so far.

Tilley showed glimpses of real quality and IMO, will be a big player next season

Never understood this pace hype tbh.
It can help on a counter attack, but i remember players like Peter Till being rapid, but also being rubbish
The less we say about the extremely fast Makofo the better.

Set-piece is something each team must have, especially with Hanson up top

I really hope that one of our three transfer window priorities isn't somebody with a long throw.

Pace is essential.  We should try to get that rapid kid who plays for Burton Albion........

You win in this league with two main attribute, Pace and Height so based on that someone who can deliver a good setpiece to help compliment that would be great

1. Someone who can stop all the opposition attacks
2. Someone who can supply our strikers with lots and lots of chances
3. Someone who can score 30 goals a season.

Simples

Definitely Pete. On top of that I would add dedication as well eg eat right, train hard and no drinking to excess as if often the case at lower league level.

A strong leader, character, teamwork and consistency.  (And someone who is proficient in basic maths).    :)

Liverpool base their success on the above qualities, ok, and numerous other ones.

Look at the individual skill levels at say Arsenal and Spurs.  Yet they do not challenge for the league (which need consistency).  Are they consistent enough or work hard enough in every game? (Liverpool do).

In Division 2 you are not facing Messi.  A physical presence/approach is also needed.

Ironically, a Vernam-type player (skillful, quick and can beat players) is ideal for the team in some league games, and maybe cup-games.  However, would he be there week in week out on say a freezing cold night game at Barrow?  That is when the team needs to dig-in for a result.

But its levels as well. Hence at lower league level there isnt a great deal of difference amongst a lot of the players.  The ones who are disciplined and keep drinking to a moderation eg no more than 2 pints a week will have an edge. Hence fitter and if all players adhere to this the team are more likely to pick up results.

"3 Qualities We Need"

Players that buy into Ollie's master plan.

Players that really want to be here.

Players that are better than what we already have.

Did Garmston make that much of an impression?
