Having canvassed Bobby during the 1983 General Election I doubt he'd thankyou for that....

Would make sense if he had the same surname!

FFS there is no S at the end of his surname.

Ooops. Seems like some people have had a sense of humour bypass.

I don't think it's got anything to do with a humour bypass, I think that it's more the fact that some fans can't seem to remember the correct surname of one of the best players ever to pull on the black & white stripes.

Like when people put Barry Conlen instead of Conlon. Drives me mad, so disrespectful.

I thought it was a Grimsby thing that we put an s at the end of everyone’s name.....so it is our Bob Cummings......

There are other regional variations of the Grimsby “s”.  In York a rugby club has installed a brand new (and expensive looking car park sign):

“Car Park For Member Only”.   Sometimes the Grimsby “s”  is a welcome addition. 😄

at Least he will always get a space.

Calling the Osmond the 'Osmand' really pisses me off, I can't recall the culprit but it has occurred on a number of occasions on here

It was a joke, not serious, but.... Hey sacrilege cumming up. Bobby Cumming was a good player,, I saw most of his games at home and a good few a way. Yes he was strong but he never went in hard for a tackle that wasn't 75% 25% in his favour. His crossing was appalling, he beat players by kicking the ball past them and running hard after the ball. He scored a good few goals though.

He was top scorer in the 1980 Championship winning team, despite having to play at full back a few times.

The Barrat Stand, The Barat Stand, The Baratt Stand, The Barrett Stand etc.

It was there long enough for people to get the name right.

What will BarrattStander make of it?
