I’m fed up to the back teeth of the way muppets round here drive. It’s only a matter of time before I’m involved in or witness an accident so I’ve decided to get a webcam.

I’m not a techie person so clueless as to what I need. Aldi have one sale at the moment.

Apart from the dashcam do I need anything else so I can download or save data to? Do I need any apps (I have iOS and Mac so are there any compatibility issues?).

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Those with dashcams tend to honk first, brake second!

I've got a nextbase 422GW, cost about £100 and then a tenner for the hardwiring kit and another tenner for a memory card. Had it around 6 months.

Can't say I've had to use it yet, only annoying thing is every so often, the memory card faults and needs formatting which deletes everything on it which was previously saved. Not sure if its the cam or the card.

Cheers K. Suppose you delete what’s on the card every so often when you don’t have any incidents.

Think I’ll wait til they come around again in Aldi or Lidl. They come up every so often for £60 or £70.

No need to delete anything well not on mine and I am sure most dash cams, after so much has been recorded it just starts overwriting and so on. It should save any footage directly before any accident as it should have a shock mechanism to save it. I haven't needed to view anything for months but it just keeps on recording :)

One thing to think about, if you have filmed something that is of interest and not as a result of an accident just give the camera a tap to save it.

I got one off Amazon for £20. As AAA says, the recording rolls around and saves anything bumpy (everything is saved in 3 minute chunks).

Not had to use it yet - I really should've bought it before some twat scraped my bumper and drove off!

Just drunk myself laughing at that video. Comedy gold! The woman sitting in the passenger seat pretending nothing was happening was the icing on the cake. I think she may have been there before! Who IS Ronnie Pickering anyhow? Perhaps someone should break it to him gently that he's not as famous as he seems to think he is!
