Could switch to 4-4-2 in attack and drop to a 5-3-2 whilst defending, 2 best crossers of the ball in Hewitt and Robson ..
Have to assume Hanson is ill or get a minor injury...
Need to use Roses pace and put some pressure on their defence but can't help thinking this could be a backs against the wall game tonight...

The commentators make it sound like these sort of matches Newport have to just complete the formalities for them to be then drawn against the “Big teams”.
I like to think if it was on bbc England shire the commentary wouldn’t be quite so biased.

I always find the commentaries on all the other home nations national teams tends to be a bit more partisan than England’s coverage is. I suppose this is their equivalent of JT and Buckley commentating on it so you can expect it to be positive, balanced and unantagonistic...

Truth hurts eh? Amond is 10 times a better player than all the current so called Town strikers put together.

The current strikers are total shite

I don’t see anyone saying he isn’t, but you keep banging on about it.

I’d like to think most professional strikers can hit a goal from 12 yards unmarked.

Cardwell and Rose will never be good enough, Hewitt is not a midfield player and Cook was never in the game, Robson erratic throughout so Hess basically on his own.

Whether we have another manager lined up I haven't heard but defeat in the next two games Limbrick has to go and someone with new ideas brought in so they have plenty of time to see how excrement some of our players are.

I've been a fan of Robson but tonight he was as dreadful as the rest especially his free kicks so I couldn't understand whilst at 0-1 and a free kick near the corner flag why the intercourse was he and Hesenthaler stood over the ball it doesn't take too to take a free kick.

So many waste of space deadweights for the new man to sort / clear out.

How Rose ever gets in the side I dion't know, he's been given too long as it is. Please ship him out in January Mr new Manager whoever you are.

I wonder how many of those 20 or 30 applicants Fenty claimed will still want the job after tonight?

Jolley must be pissing himself laughing

Don't normally agree with you Swin but I reckon we are going to be in another relegation battle.

I can hardly put into words how bad that was. We were terrible, and i actually think most League 2 teams would have beaten Newport tonight, I thought they were garbage too!

We’re in trouble. Completely missed opportunity for Limbrick. In one showing, he’s messed up his chances. Fenty needs to get this right or that single relegation spot is a serious possibility.

I'm almost lost for words....if that's limbricks idea of going back to basics then we're f@cked...
Maybe I was wrong when I said he no input into tactics and team selection or maybe Jolley started to listen to him and that's why we've gone backwards,!!..
Who knows?...all I know us we need someone of Tisdales ilk quickly, possibly before the weekend because as I have said... limbrick ain't the man to move us forwards....and I say that mainly on how bad his decision making was tonight re substitutions..

Not really a surprise is it.

Laws
Woods
Scott & Hurst
Bignot
Slade
Jolley

6 rolls of the dice and the best we've had is a 4 or a 5. And that was re-rolled several times.

Common denominator?

All the excrement Akheem Rose gets. Green is no better
Fair enough he isn't up to standard but he's got about 20 pro games under his belt and I'd imagine one of the lowest paid players in the squad. Decent cheap player to bring on from the bench with 20mins to go. A few years younger than vernam, I'd have expected him to be the one loaned out
Greens a poor man's Wes Thomas - might be worth trying to loan him out. Stealing a living for me - what numpty signed him

Before the game I thought the manager had until the end of the season. After that i think its more like 1 game, 2 at most

Summed up for me with the close up of Rose laughing with Limbrick just after he had been subbed.
Get the new bloke in. AND SOON.

One man implies we’ve got a bottom scraping budget. One man says it’s top 12. Look at that squad, these performances... with at least 10 players who look seriously below par and tell me where the evidence points...?

Wouldn't be the first time a Tory has lied on camera

KM means Nicky Law

The one who was brought in when we were nowhere near the bottom but took us down from the third to the fourth tier

I think you could pick Jesus Christ Almighty, assisted by Brian Clough (or would it be the other way round?), in the manager's job at Grimsby but it would not make any difference.

I saw something on Twitter earlier from an account called @Jim Fenly factchecker and he said we have a top 7 budget so it must be true.

LImbrick, Fenty and the rest of that pile of shite players should put their hands in their pockets and refund those 93 hardy souls who went down to Newport tonight.

We may have a top 7 budget, but if it's all gone on Hansen then the rest of the squad are probably not top half league 2 players.

I've lived down south too long. Shoot me if I ever say 'exaample' like that woman on the One Show who claimed she was from Grimsby.

I would suspect, Hanson, Green and Waterfall are costing a pretty penny thus leaving not a lot left in the pot for any more quality than what we presently have.....this squad is pretty much what we have until the end of the season so whoever comes in needs to be a good seamstress because they've got to try to make a silk purse out of a sows ear

Do you seriously think we have?

It's only since Monday that we've been fed this line.... we've always just been told it's competitive

It's only since MJ's rant about the budget that JF has come along with this line

It may well be the case but where is the proof? It's certainly not out there on the pitch........

How much more  of this shite can the long suffering fans of GTFC take ? Just heard there was 93 Town fans present, over 500 mile round trip. They don't deserve a medal they deserve fooking  counselling!  Because  you have to be certified mad to support this club week in week out, year in year out. When will this torture ever end?!!!

waterfall& pollock aside thought the rest abysmal not including macca in that i mean outfield players , really really struggling to count how many times robson overhit crosses , sum's us up at end gibson blazing over excrement night all round

i  thought Macca was as bad as the rest apart from waterfall, pollock and Hess.  Macca does not Boss his area, puts pressure on defenders, his distibution  continues to be suspect. Confidence starts from the back.( just my opinion.) :-/

If limbricks idea to improve us is returning to playing Hewitt in central midfield then ffs show him the door now. He has eyes the same as us, every single one of us can see he isn't a central midfielder. He's utterly anonymous there at best.
Rose isn't good enough to start- he may have a role as sub against a tired defence but he isn't good enough for a starting role.
I wasn't sure were we playing wing backs? Cant tell. if so another reason to show limbricks the door as we have nobody capable of playing that role except maybe hendrie who was injured.
We went to absolute pieces after their goal, no fight and no desire, and no idea either.
urine weak defending from Gibson I think that started the rot for their first.
Relegation battle looms yet again, as there is only 1 spot we should surely have enough so long as limbricks doesn't get it...

I don't like criticising Macca as he does well for us most of the time

He knows his limitations commanding his area but his shot stopping usually more than makes up for that

Tonight though I was disappointed with him in his role as captain

We needed someone taking control, driving players on to give that last ounce of effort but while he is the captain I'm afraid I don't see us having the backbone needed to pull us through when the chips are down

Back to league business on Saturday then.... the dreams of a plum tie in tatters after that second half and I just hope that Limbrick can somehow get something out of the squad he has at his disposal because Northampton away folllowed by Cheltenham at home in quick succession is going to be a tough call for a team so low on confidence and arguably ability

I didn’t have the pleasure of watching such a p.iss poor performance thanks to being at work late but could tell how awful a display it was from the commentary. Limbrick has to go . Another clean start required . Ship out as many of Jolleys crap signings as possible in jan to give the new man half a chance to make 2 or 3 new players who may inject some much needed belief as it feels this lot are just slipping into don’t give a fook surrender mode .
