All doesn't seem well at Mansfield at the moment.
Poor start to the season and the natives are already getting restless.
Money doesn't always buy you success ;)
Come on Town Saturday.

It seems that they appointed the former youth team/academy manager to replace Flitcroft and it's not working. Not sure where I've heard all this before but the jist of it is, "he's a nice guy, served the club well but he's out of his depth".
Some of them think they need a slice of luck to turn the corner so lets hope it's not Saturday!!

Hopefully the manager won't be sacked before the weekend, how many times has that happened and the opposition have played like demons, to impress whoever is in charge?

After reading their fans comments about youth team manager made up to first team manager and then struggling and looking like possible relegation candidates, does it remind you of anything?

To be fair to Woods, he didn't take over a side with lofty promotion ambitions that had gone very close the previous season.
He took over a side during the season that had recruited badly in the summer and only stayed up the previous season because of points deductions for other sides.

Indeed, Graham Rodger is probably a better comparison.

Flitcroft got their defence well sorted and they played some good stuff at times last season. The Radfords were way too trigger happy getting rid, in my opinion. I guess you get that with owners with ideas above their station.

I wish you had put this thread on after we have played them PP,
If we lose it's all your fault !!!!!!! :P

If we beat Manfield on Saturday, we'll have 21 points from just 12 games, which equates to 1.75 points per game. Over a 46 game season that would mean 80 points.
More understandably, it would probably mean that we wanted spend 75% of the season worrying about possible relegation back to the National League, and therefore the ability to play with some style and elan and go for it regardless?

They've only sold 600 odd tickets so far.. To us that's dreadful but I guess we're so used to suporting a team who travel in numbers on a regular basis.. Would love to see a table of the % of home support that travels away, we surely would be right up their.

In answer to the OP, they have a squad of players that appear to be more intent on reffing the game and winding up the opposing side with constant time wasting and feigning injury at every opportunity rather than getting the ball down and playing.

Yes to the first part but not too much stick from me for yesterday. It happens in football and actually a point would have been ok if a bit disappointing. The lessons from yesterday must be self evident and I’m sure a bright guy like Jolley will have learned lots. He definitely learned something about tactics and perhaps about a fair few players too, many of whom didn’t meet the high standards set, largely by themselves in previous games.
Golden opportunity wasted, but next 3 games very winnable. 2 wins or even 4 points and we’ll be solid in the top half and in the play off picture approaching November. I’d have been chuffed with that as a pre-season offer.
