Town beat Sheffield United on penalties in the second round of the cup to set-up a third round tie away at Liverpool.
Not the most memorable event of that day of course...

Lad i used to work alongside made his debut for Northampton that same night at the riverside. Said it was an eerie atmosphere, though that could've been just the riverside

How did he ever get a contract, remember watching him in a friendly game while on trial and he looked
excrement and incapable of scoring a goal. I thought he'd end up another trialist who moves on but then it was announced he signed.
