Matt Dean thinks its a done deal, Telegraph hinting at the same. Even Jolley implied it was very close.

Well I’ve only had a ‘source’ once before this and it was absolutely spot on. So I’ll stick my neck out again.

Literally talking to a man in the pub and said this was rumoured. Guy knows Luke so phoned him, did not get a yes from Luke more a I cannot comment. Would expect a denial if no truth in it so do expect this will happen.

Always believe what I get told in the pub.

Shrewsbury have announced his left the club, mutual agreement of contract.

That explains why it’s took ages, we have signed him on a free and haven’t paid a fee by looks of it.

Okay, so if we have signed him, who do we drop from what has been a pretty solid back 4 in the opening 2 league games?...can't see him leaving the shrews to come here if he's not been pretty much guaranteed first team football.

Even if he doesn’t go straight into the team he’ll get plenty of games covering Öhman for his five yellow card ban every few weeks 😂

I suspect Ludwig is concussed but we’re just not letting on to try and keep Forest Green guessing. Yes, Pollock did well on Tuesday but he’s not the solution for a long run in the side just yet. I think (providing Waterfall isn’t concussed too) he’ll partner Davis on Saturday.

Anyone got a sneaking suspicion that maybe Davis may move back towards Manchester now?...
Good signing and at the right age and experience for a centre half...could be a good pairing with Ludwig...
Anyway, welcome to GTFC Luke👍👍

Couldn't agree more, he's been excellent, last thing I would want to see is him leave, but it came out through the closed season he wants to move back to the north west...
And, this signing will now push Pollock down the pecking order...

Pollocks 17 years old.. he’s got a hell of a lot to learn and being around Davis waterfall and Öhman day in day out will only improve him

Excellent signing and potential captain, even if he doesn’t actually wear the armband. Don’t worry about Pollock dropping down the pecking order, he’s only 17 and from what I’ve seen has potential but still has bits to learn and there’s no better players to learn from than the 3 centre halves in front of him. He’ll still get game time as well as Ludwig picks up his weekly yellow cards and Harry Davis seems to pick up the odd injury or two.

2 clean sheets from 3 games and now adding Luke Waterfall into the defensive equation tells me we should be quite water tight this season.

Think MJ has said that Davis will be here all season. Don't think he was bullsh***ing.
Pollock will see plenty of action for a 17 year old who is still developing.

Just goes to show where hard work and perseverance gets you. Started off at Gainsborough Trinity and then played for Scunny & Lincoln. And finally he's reached the peak of Lincolnshire football at the age of 29.

There is a bit of a theme with some our signings this summer and opinions of the supporters of their last club.

Hanson was said to be past it, legs gone (even though he only uses his head  ;) ). Looks an absolute beast so far, including some lovely link up play using his feet.

Hewitt was meant to be the worlds worst RB yet so far he did well at Morecambe and was a lot of folks MOM against Bradford.

And now Waterfall...

Puns aside really hope we don’t go back to a 5-3-2 surely not - but MJ now has to keep Davis - Ludvig and now this new lad all happy 🤔

Ohman is nailed on to get suspensions and / or injuries the way he plays. Seems to get clattered a couple of times every game and isn’t adverse to a daft challenge. Four players fighting for two starting spots sounds perfect to me.

2 players for every position so can't see him going with 3 at the back. The plan will be to use various formations throughout the season and games no doubt.

4-3-3 is versatile and if used correctly, allows us to attack teams. When under the cosh or defending a lead you can easily shore up the midfield.  With the versatility in a number of players you can easily switch to 3 at the back with a maximum of one substitution.

The only danger with 4-3-3 is that if you use the wrong players, it becomes a flat 4-5-1. With a midfield 3 working as hard as Hessenthaler, Clifton and Whitehouse you can afford to have an extra attack-minded player up there. Not saying our wide forwards shouldn't track back but their focus should be on attacking rather than "keeping us shape" which leads to an isolated front man feeding off scraps.

Exciting signing and you would assume he will be a guaranteed starter alongside Ohman. I just feel bad for Pollock and Davis especially as they’ve started the season well. But it’s a team game and I’m sure they’ll all get opportunities.
If we could sign an exceptional (L2) central midfielder, then I might just start getting giddy about this season.

I don't think he will be a guaranteed starter besides Ohman. In my opinion, Davis is our  est centre back and one of our best players and theres no way he can be dropped on current form.

To play 3 at the back you need at least one of the 3 to have some pace otherwise the wide players have to keep coming back to cover and you end up with 5 at the back. We ain’t got pace so if he has sense the manager will do the simple thing and go with 4 defenders.

Davis & Waterfall for me.  Ohman is immense in the air, but a bit of a liability and a red card waiting to happen.  With Waterfall we're keeping the aerial dominance that Ohman brings.

Form and circumstances should be the deciding factor on what the pairing is (I'm in preference of the 433 or some variation of), they'll all have a part to play and no one should be guaranteed starter. Peed me off a bit Collins coming straight back in at times last Season.

Let's say Ohman is concussed and Waterfall steps in, if he and Davis play amazingly well while then Ludvig will have to wait his turn to impress. Likewise if Ludvig comes back and puts in stellar shows he stakes his right to be on the teamsheet and somebody else has to bide their time.

But they will all be utilised, perhaps Jolley would prefer a certain pairing for certain opposition but in any case over the course of a long Season they will all be called upon. Especially if we do well in the Cups and fixtures start to pile up.

It's a squad game and competition for places is healthy. Pollock will certainly still get a good amount of game time and he's proved already he can be relied upon so we don't have to panic ever and get a loanee in in that position. Heck we've even got Hendre and perhaps Hewitt if needs must.

I dont no if it was his interview or I've read it on here but sure the new lad says he left because he wants game time and he wasn't guaranteed that at Shrewsbury

As someone in their late 30s I find the love for Oasis, Stone Roses etc from young kids a bit strange. To be fair you can't make a football chant out of grime very easily.
