Hate to say it about that lot down the road, but a good draw for them too against Everton. Possibly be on Tv as well

As the previous posters have said, very winnable for us. Not easy, but definitely winnable

We’ve lost our last 5 games at home to Macclesfield  :(

It'll be tough of that I have no doubt, but we are more than capable.

For all they’ve done on and off the pitch they’ve been lucky bar stewards with cup draws.

Macc at home, looking at our record against the 50/50 I reckon😂

Good draw for us, doable to get into the hat for the third round :)

Is there any other club out there at the moment that has a better record against us at BP?

We have a better record at home to just about every current PL side than we do v Macclesfield!

In isolation, though, and forgetting that record... I agree. A winnable game for sure.

They played us off the park last season. We’re going to have to step up if we’re going to beat them. I’m still optimistic given what we’ve seen so far of the current team.

Happy with that, although I suspect Macc fancy their chances as well. I just hope weve strengthened the squad by then

Wouldn't mind a good little cup run.
Beat Macc and then get a good away draw that's on TV pays for another player in the squad to bolster our chances.

If HMRC manage to get Macclesfield wound up...does the team they beat take their place or do we go through to the next round?

Winding up case is now after round 2 so they will already be out by then.

IF we knock them out of the cup and deny them a money-making third round tie it could be the Grimsby Reaper’s most telling blow to date.

Never thought I'd see the day when we are worrying about a Macclesfield team that hasn,t got a pot to urine in

Bury didn't have a pot to urine in and they got promoted!

Some of the statements about Macclesfield reminds me of how a certain Mr Hurst had us all worried about the opposition, I understand you don't go round shouting about how easy it will be and how many goals you'll score, a bit of respect for the opposition is fine but be positive about yourself.

Looks like Sol has left by ‘mutual agreement’, doesn’t bode well for them given their financial situation.

Hopefully we’ll take advantage of their situation and beat them in the cup 👍

I really fancy us to beat Macc and get ourselves a Prem / Champ side in Round 3 - big month of footy ahead - exciting times and only 3 games in

Oh dear, the unbridled gtf C optimism raises its head again after a couple of decent performances! 8) 8)  our home record v macc plus the inevitable new manager bounce means a 'Mac to qualify for next round' bet might be good value

Seeing as they've won their last 2 games, would a bounce not be good for us?

Apparently Sol wasn’t paid for 5 months, so maybe recruiting a replacement won’t be particularly easy?

on one hand.....cnts.....should have done that for the first fking round...

on the other hand ....good idea from the club who have obviously realised the 2000 "home" gate in the last round could have been due to the full price approach adopted.

I think that's a good move by the club. It shows they're finally listening.

Agree but still think Adult prices should have been set at £10 for this game although as I will be away on holiday it will not have any influence on my ability to attend 😄

Will be interesting to see which game is more profitable In terms of ticket sales.

well with my ciggy packet maths head on and only using full price £22 & £15 a pop to get a guestimate ;

Vs Donny - Approx 2500 x 22 = £55,000

£55,000  / 15 =   3666

Overall gate would need to increase by 1166 over last time to match the gate receipt figure

Anticipating that Macc would probably only bring around 100 then the burden of extra numbers falls on the home support and would have to be up by 1500 ish taking it to a 3500 "home" gate

Well im in Grimsby that week so there is +2 on the gate for Maccs. So justt need another 1448  ;)
