A workmanlike performance against one of the weaker teams.
Midfield looked busy
Attack worked hard and there is good pace from Messrs Rose and Wright.. Hanson added much needed physical presence
Defence was solid

Difficult to judge how we will do this year, but a welcome start and good turnout from the fans travelling coast to coast with rail and motorway problems.

Still doesn't look like a finished or settled side. Lacking just that little bit of creative flair I think after watching that, not to take away from todays performance which was great

watching some of the lg2 highlights on skyports website and a few red cards have been dished out.

Gifted the first goal through their failed offiside trap....breakaway second with their keeper up for the corner......not convincing goals to win the game but we were the more dominant side on the day without creating a great deal from open play.

Reading the Morecambe fans page not sure I was at the same game! If Grimsby were “less than average” and “for the taking” then what were the Shrimps ? P*&s p6&r ! Game was a good start for the mariners with some good play although at times we tried to be a bit clever. Thought Green was unlucky to get booked but their guy who ran half the pitch to put his forehead in Greens’ face was lucky not to have a straight red. Have always said goalkeepers should not go up for corners as you are prone to the counter attack but fair play to Wright he slotted it home perfectly. Good start but can get better. On to  BP and Bradford. UTM
