All sounds a bit scrappy...not settling into kind of rhythm by the sounds of it...

The difference Hanson makes!! I mean we all said we needed a target man last season and it shows.

HT  0-0

Not there myself......was it a penalty for the push on Rose ?

The commentators seem to think so.

So how did the first half go folks🤔
Posted by: scott_gtfc_89, August 3, 2019, 3:55pm; Reply: 12
Pretty even, would say we are edging it, a lot of fouls to stop the rhythm of the game, Hanson is winning a lot, we have defo missed this type of player and to be honest he should of scored but a weak shot,

We need to settle down it seems rushed and like we are nervous, defiantly can pick up 3 points here.

We've been the better side but it certainly reads of a game with two teams that aren't completely settled just yet, stray passes crosses behind the man etc, but its certainly fast entertaining football

Bullshit yellow for Green, he was clearly trying to pull out when he caught the keeper. Kenyon at least getting a yellow for shoving a squaring up to Green.

You know the feeling when the dreadful realisation hits that you're out of The League. But losing 1-0 and having two men sent-off is a horror show.
What a good start for The Mariners. I'm glad you can all enjoy a drink tonight, very different to a year ago.

Great to get off to a winning start especially away from home. A clean sheet and also scoring more than one goal too..

Confidence boosting goals for Whitehouse and  Wright..

Couldn't have wished for a much better opener to the season..

What a great result! Not the best performance and we struggled to string more than 2 passes together but we ground out the win and took our chances.

I really like the look of our front 3, Hanson wins everything in the air and Rose has pace and a bit of trickery whilst Green seems to have a mixture of pace and power. All three were unlucky not to score.

Our midfield struggled to get into the game as they were bypassed by the long ball a lot and it was a rare off day for Clifton. some of our best chances came when we actually got the ball on the floor in midfield though.

Morecambe looked like a team of unfit old guys, I think they will struggle this year on that showing. Their number 2 was way overweight for a professional footballer, Roche isn’t getting any younger and was a liability for the second goal whilst old man Ellison is a nasty piece of work, he came on and just wanted a fight, he elbowed Öhman in the face whilst he was laid on the floor in the goalmouth and squared up to a 17 year old Pollock for no real reason

A great showing from our fans and it was great to see all those behind the goal celebrating wildly after each goal, it really shows how much football means to our town!

And he still managed to get an assist.  I think it was Clifton on the edge of our box who managed to flick it to Max.
