On talkSPORT around lunchtime. Caught part of it. Talking about Disley. And the possibility of a takeover and a new ground. He said that he would miss Blundell Park. He did not have anything new to say. However, it did raise the profile of the club in a a positive light. Anyone else catch it?

I switched the radio on in the car just as H&J said goodbye to him, I didn’t even catch 1 second! However, I do know that I like the guy.

He was at the Armed Forces Day on Saturday with his friends and family. Genuine nice guy who loves the Mariners and will always do his best to promote the club.

He's doing some light entertainment for our company at the Lincolnshire showground on Wednesday, might get to see him at some point.

Does a great job in promoting the club were he can but I have never found the bloke funny in the slightest.
I suppose comedy is a preference thing but he's just not my kind of comedian.

I couldn’t get over how young he is. Only 27 I believe (or around that age).

Whatever the view on his comedy, he does a great job promoting the Club on several big platforms as much as he possibly can it seems. For that he should be applauded.

Oh yes please! But then so long as folk buy it I don't really give a
intercourse and anyway why am I being criticised for saying he's not funny? I think at least one other poster shares my view.

I too prefer his singing to his comedy, and I don't particularly like his singing to be fair. It's no different than calling Matt Heywood a poor defender or Russell Slade a crep manager.

Seen him at a few away games, don't think it's nice to be berating him when he does everything he can to promote us on the national stage. Is it the old English addage of knocking down anyone who is successful instead of celebrating the fact?

I've never seen the bloke live and I have only heard of him through interviews on Talksport.
As far as I knew he was some sort of overweight minor celebrity who supports Grimsby Town and has aspirations to be a goalkeeper.
Does a great job to publicise and promote the club but doesn't make me laugh.

He had the dubious pleasure of my company on the train down to Bognor for the trophy game a few years ago . I’d already had a few to put it mildly. He soon made a sharp exit after we got off the train . Don’t blame him tbh .

Good on him for promoting the club ....... though to be honest, apart from here and seeing his name in a couple of bits in the GT ages ago, I had no idea who the lad was either. We are a bit light in the national celebrity supporter stakes in Grimsby these days aren’t we?

I was going to post You Tube links to a) a Lloyd Griffith standup and b) Manning on stage at his club to ask who was funnier but firstly I couldn't be arsed and secondly I don't think I would have got honest replies as so many are fanatical about being PC
