Before any of you post non football Rob has given me the green light to mention that it is Armed Forces weekend and Cleethorpes is awash with folk wearing Town tops, this truly demonstrates support for the club !!

Those boys in ww1 and ww2 never had a choice and deserve our maximum respect

Last war worth fighting was WW2. The glorification and celebration of it all signifies the billions wasted yearly.

Could be wrong but I would estimate around 100,000 people in the resort today.

What an amazing turnout that is, respect to all who did and supported, I’ve been looking at the photos on Facebook and it looked a brilliant day out.👍

Yeah agree with this also at the Oliver’s restaurant and a woman who was a customer asked if her disabled son could use the inside toilets but was refused, when she protested to the owner he got a bit aggressive as I suppose he’d had this a lot and h told her if she had a problem go and see the armed forces day organisers, I felt sorry for her and he maybe could of let her use the toilets but I suppose he did have a bit of a point.

I went into Town today (lunchtime). Got off the bus at the station and saw a huge crowd queuing outside. Apparently it was all the people who'd tried to get on trains to Cleethorpes but couldn't because they were rammed. Whilst I was there the Barton train came in from Barton. Those of you who "do" trains will know that the Barton train is usually one carriage. This was three and totally rammed. According to station staff it had been like that since 10 a.m. Unheard of goings-on.

As do all the women who contributed to the war effort. Let's not forget them.

Il be honest apart from being a day out on the urine in the sun for most, the event itself was a bit excrement, I see 1 aeroplane!
Hopefully tomorrow will be an improvement.

I didn’t attempt it in this heat. I usually don’t. When I HAVE I’ve thought it was pretty good, but only without the kids and able to drink!

Most of the aerial displays are tomorrow. There's a timetable somewhere which I've seen. The Typhoon is doing its display around 5pm, I think.

Have just seen the Fireflies at the memorial gate tonight, a spectacular display.

Saw in the GT that a Doncaster outfit had been permitted to sell alcohol on the street but local places were instructed to keep drinkers inside.
Disturbing.
Definitely should be local companies & produce.
Superb turnout mind.

As we speak I've nipped round the corner and got the radio on full blast at home so the firework display doesn't upset the dogs.

DO NOT USE THE DONCASTER OUTFIT.  The Navy club welcomes all. £1.40 a pint cheaper than that tent. And no one stopped us going outside yesterday.

I wouldn't use them anyway.
I prefer to give my money to local businesses.
Pity more information about this wasn't made public earlier.
The pathetic GT doing its usual doom & gloom story-by all accounts people were rightly allowed to carry on as normal.

I wonder if any of the new players or prospective signings were in the resort this weekend. Fantastic weather, great atmosphere and showed how great Cleethorpes can be.
