Macca forced to make a save because we wouldn't push out and giving them the space to pass the ball around

What did he say

Amongst other things that McCall was giving players days off without letting him know (!) and that he spent 750k in January on players that McCall then didn't pick.

County taking it to last day with a draw - unless Macc win itโ€™s all over today

Because County are pressing us everytime we get the ball they're surrounded by 2 or 3 guys forcing us to rush our pass or just hoof it.

We are playing poorly today, but got to admit every half challenge, deflection has fallen straight at the feet of County players every time. Mackail Smith looks good for them.

Burrel for Rose
Cardwell for Vernam.

Neither has had much influence today not that they've had anuthing to work with. But it feels and looks more like Jolleys given up on the game and is protecting players for when we play Crewe next week.

2-0 down - couldn't see the point in swapping Vernam for Cardboard - for the sake of 20 minutes, -should of 'blooded' another youngster - I assume this is the way forward.

Crewe have suddenly sprung to life late on today - so we'll probably put the 'youngsters' on the back burner again.

Play the young lads - that's what Crewe do.

Still waiting to see this pressing attacking football, wonder if the budget for next season will be bigger than a few players going through the motions and a packet of hob nobs.

So, another disappointing defeat, devoid of decent football and lacking a cutting edge. We will finish 17th or 18th, and yet another boring, lower mid table league 2 campaign grinds to it's end. No progress whatsoever since we came back into the league.  :-/
Posted by: Madeleymariner, April 27, 2019, 5:12pm; Reply: 76
Shockingly bad   :'(  we only put 3 passes together once County retreated to their own penalty area for the last 10 mins. Need to start Wright if we play 442 but honestly couldn't see what Jolly was trying to do tactically at all. Putting Hendrie at left back? Grayson on the pitch? hoofing it up to an isolated Rose? Macca is such a wuss when a cross comes over and was Vernam playing today? saw his name on the teamsheet b ut didn't see him on the pitch. We really need a big strong midfielder who can pass a ball because the current crop couldn't pass wind.
In our defence the ref gave a freekick every time Makail Smith didnt win the ball and the challenge by M Rose was a stonewall red card but the ref bottled it. Lets hope Macc win next week so they go down no matter what.

Good post. Me neither. Weโ€™ve had terrible luck with injuries and thereโ€™s only so many times you can rely on youth players to fill gaps and play out of their skins. Mind you, Max Wright apparently excellent today.

We do need a good summer transfer wise though.
