Tea time reports on RH say he won’t play again this season due to hip injury.

That’s the end of his loan. How do folk think he’s done? Should we look to bring him back next season?

I said I didn't rate him when we signed him on loan and while I still stick by that a bit and I don't think he's done a massive amount to sway me, his touch is way better than I gave him credit for. He does the odd thing that shows he possesses ability greater than most in the division, but we just haven't seen it enough from him. Part of that admittedly is down to lack of service, partly down to lack of playing time and partly down to just not playing that well. My main criticism of him before was that I thought he was lazy, but I've changed my mind on that as he has generally put in a decent shift whenever I've seen him. I'd have liked to see him in a more dynamic attack minded setup really.

For me whether we try and bring him back in comes down to his wage demands. If he breaks the bank then perhaps not, but if we can get him in for a reasonable amount I'd be fairly happy with that.

He couldn't have played on Saturday anyway, so it'll just be the final game v Crewe we won't be able to pick him for.

Not really done enough for me to warrant a contract next season though. Hopefully there will be better out there in the summer.

Looks like the kinda striker who plays well off a bigger target man next to him.. seeing as we haven't got one it's not really worked

He scored quite a few alongside Chris Holroyd for Macclesfield who isn't massive, so I don't think he necessarily needs to be alongside a big man.

Not really a patch on Thomas. How many would Wes have scored with this magical strike partner we all want?

Not for me.

We could’ve had Harry Kane up front and I doubt he’d have done any better in front of goal. I watched him quite closely on Monday and he literally fed off scraps all day and had one semi half chance. His movement was still good and touch looked classy, but the service to him was pretty non existent. I always think the best statistic to judge a striker on is chance conversion not goals scored. I don’t know what his is but I bet it’s not bad.

I think with some actual wingers either side, a creative midfielder and an unselfish strike partner up with him then he’d score goals. It probably all depends on what shape Jolley wants to set up with next season, if he wants to go with a lone front man then he’s probably not for us, but if he wants a poacher to player alongside a target man or even a clever number 10 then maybe he’d be worth while trying to sign.

I really hope we sign Smith from Macclesfield, he looks like the type of striker we need. Tall, wins headers but can also play a bit.

one of those that the laymen will think he is sh1t because he hasnt scored many but will then moan when he goes somewhere else and scores goals.
I think he is the most natural striker we have seen since Amond....not pacy, not great in the air, not "skillful" but his general movement in and around the box and some of his touches and awareness of others is something you cant teach.....the fact we dont have anyone who can either  feed off, feed him or link with him isnt his fault.

If we feed him i think he will score.....question his will Jolley feed him or want a different type of player ?

I saw enough of him at Crawley to realise he’s absolutely sh.ite .

Not fit and hasn't been all season according to a mate who's a County fan. Good goal scoring record and I think if fit he'd be back scoring again as it looks like he knows what to do. Based upon this season he won't sign for us on a perm deal as he just won't get the supply.

Think he's being tracked by League 1 amd Championship clubs. Everybody is always looking for a striker!

Vernam, Burrell and Akhem to start against County then?

Starved of service no doubt.  It's the fact he doesn't appear to have improved his fitness at all since he came here that would concern me the most.

Not for me.  Will go down as one of those signings that looked great on paper but never worked out.  See also; Brodie, R. & Devitt, J (2nd spell).

Are you being serious? He had an 'altercation with MJ' and hasn't been seen since!

Wes was sat in front of JT on Monday.

I have it on good authority he has been told he won't play again after alledgedly having an argument with MJ in the dressing room after the Oldham defeat.

The team had a go at Wes as they said he wasn't trying, Jolley then tried to intervene and Wes (who was pretty angry) told him to intercourse off etc.

Would have Dennis back provided Jolley builds a midfield capable of keeping the ball on the deck and creating more than 2 chances a game.

But he is on £1,500 which since Welsh left (£1,800) makes him the highest paid player on our books. Macca was very annoyed when he signed on a bigger wage (think macca is 1.3k p/w) . Welsh's wage is correct. It is either Dennis 1.5k Macca 1.3k or Dennis 1.3k Vs Macca 1k. Pretty sure it's 1.5 Vs 1.3 if I remember rightly.

What is the potential people see in Akhem Rose. Up to now, I don't see it?

He's carrying an injury, played only two games, one out of position and then up front on his own in a team low on form, quality and confidence. Give the lad a break..

What do you mean give him a break, I'm asking a question ffs.

Hardly 'a lad' any more. Time he started to show what he can do and so far he hasn't.

You said you don’t see it, that’s not a question. I see far more potential in Rose than I do Cardwell.

Why do I see some similarities there with what happened with Darren Mansaram?
