Is it me, or are we almost always shown up by the opposition in terms of a clean first touch, avoiding a tackle, movement off the ball and crisp passing. Exceptions are Hess, Vernam, Hendrie and Dennis. Most League 2 players have shortcomings of some kind but we are embarrassing at times. Unfortunately, Grayson also appears to fit the pattern of steady defender but little ability to beat his man.
Body language and verbals between team mates today show rapidly diminishing confidence, trust and heart. For all of MJ's references to blooding young players, he has mishandled the who, when, where and how too many times. Replacing Cardwell's physicality with Burrell was a pointless gesture. Buckley for Davis maybe, or Pollock for Collins for the last 25 min would have told us a little more about their abilities.

Because when fans stop falling in love with Jolly and see through the smoke screen. They will see that he raly does not know what he is doing as a manager. He may be a very good coach and a very nice man with nice words, but he is no manager yet

He’s no manager yet ... he kept us in the league last year and has managed it again , I suspect our budget is a bout we’re we'll finish this season.  Accrington  Stanley got promoted on a low budget but it doesn’t happen very often.

Trouble is Fenty thinks we can be an Accrington. When will he realise that he's tried Lady Luck for far too long and runs like we're currently on show it doesn't work. To be fair to Jolley, we're down to 15 fit pros plus the kids.

I can’t see how we’re going to improve with no investment , in fact these type of seasons will be the norm until we slip out the league again. After 2 decades of pure shite I’d love change at the top

I’ve been saying it for ages but unless you where a Town mad multi millionaire you wouldn’t “invest” in GTFC in its current for as there is nothing in reality to invest in.

Parker obviously in the beginning disagreed with you herts and when I said invest I meant that very loosely

It's his only hope along with his often spoken mantra that we're lucky that he's saved us from being a Stockport, York or Darlington. I can't think of anything positive or progressive he's ever said to inspire generations of Town fans over the years, more project fear than project hope. Another mantra is be careful what you wish for that gets trotted out. Again, project fear, there's no hopefulness, no inspiration, nothing for fans to latch onto and set the pulses racing.. and here we are.. yet again.. Groundhog Day.. different manager, same owner..

Are you saying that that is Fenty's plan?

Just to hope we stay in the League each season?

That seems to be the message as I said on another thread. Hardly the best sales pitch to season ticket holders, is it?

We are so inconsistent  we get our hopes up by winning 2 or 3 then bring us right down by failing to win for 5 to 8 games.

What the answer is Jolley can not find it,

Will he listen to us ?

I doubt that very much,

BUT

I will offer some words of wisdom from somebody who has played and watched the game for nearly 65 years.

W e need to play players in their best position  and stick with a settled team,

We have 5 games left so lets see what the younger lads do,

Put 3 or 4 of them in the team that starts giving them 10 mins or less at the end of a game tells you nothing.

Jolley said he wanted to sees how what the younger lads  cope then starts with a near 39 year old?

Put Pollock in and stick with him for the 5 games and then you will learn a lot more about him than the odd minutes here and there,
Do the same with some of the other lads   (guys on here know who better than me ) and see what happens it wont make much difference if we lose all 5 because the way we are going we will lose them anyway but at least you will have more idea if they can make it or not.

You are a well educated man and have all the qualfications needed to do the job but that means nothing IF you do not learn by you mistakes.

I do not expect you to take advice fro an old fart like me just remember Rome was not built in a day but placing the right stones in the right positions helped a lot.

No I’m not saying that’s fenty plan but it appears our budget is bottom end so we more than likely will finish in the lower half of the table, I don’t know what fenty plan is if he has one 🙈

How much more is the playing budget of ours compared to the likes of Lincoln?

I thought that might've been the response to my question. I was hoping for actual amounts so we can obtain the delta in £'s 🤔

Until our playing budget increases to 10 or above then there's bob hope of achieving a competitive squad that's pushing for promotion.

I'm praying for either a change at the top this Summer or some fresh faces on the board to inject our playing budget shortfall

Unless somebody works for both clubs it would be guess work what the budgets are. What we can work out is the quality of signings and the difference in gate money.Lincoln have double the gates so how much is that worth ?

Lincoln season tickets sales alone where  about 1.4 mil more than ours, plus what those extra 5k fans spend on a match day

Yep. They showed how to use the momentum of a promotion to catapult them further up the league.

The cup run must have brought in a big sum too.

Would it make a massive difference if we swapped managers with Lincoln? Would Jolley be top of the league and the Cowleys struggling to find a goal from somewhere?

I would suggest neither is likely.
