Collins beaten for pace ( I know we don't see that very often) Macca forced to come out as a result and chipped nicely. Well taken goal against the run of play.

This is what happens when we have strikers who can't finish chances and have no pace

Typical Town under Jolley we allow our offensive opportunity to result in an opposition goal, we must retain possession better or we’re going to progress next season

Losing 0-1 in a game we've dominated. We've been here time and time again. We just need to keep applying the pressure and playing some of these killer balls quicker.

It's Thomas in disguise-Jolly told him he could come off the naughty step but he didn't want anybody to know that he is really a softee at heart-he wants to be remembered as Alex Ferguson Mk 2

Vernam playing quite well but just wont release the ball quick enough and ends up running sideways accross the pitch and not forwards,

Town looking like what they are 11 players who have never started together before.

Get the man in front of the back 4 but surely it should be Woolford instead of Davis ?
Posted by: Maringer, April 6, 2019, 3:59pm; Reply: 37
We've had the better of it but don't put enough pressure on the opposition when we are attacking. Some decent spells of play but we never put phases of attacks together to stretch the opposition defence and, of course, we're always liable to concede one on the counter.

One slight positive is that the ref has started to crack down on their time wasting already (instead of waiting until the 80th minute!) but it wouldn't surprise me if they scored another on the break. The ball just keeps falling to them and they'll get another chance or two at the very least.

Odd line-up with Davis playing a relatively advanced role. He's done OK there but with the best will in the world isn't going to be attacking from midfield.

Found his level in an average Conference side against a poor Aldershot team that they are currently drawing at home with. He's never once in his career performed in league football despite several chances so not sure what you are trying to prove. 1 goal in 15 is hardly "goal machine" form for us so dunno why we'd want him back.

Possibly. But we still have a young squad who are developing anf still finding their strengths, not helped by this constant 532 we keep playing.

Same old same old. Dominating first half but still trail at half time. Lack luster second half with like for like subs lose 2-0. Vernam and Hess looked like the only players who wanted anything from the game in the second half. No creative thought in and around the box and any we did have was slow and ponderous like Arsenal were under Wengers end days and resulted in nothing.
Posted by: Madeleymariner, April 6, 2019, 5:08pm; Reply: 55
Pointlessness of bringing Burrell on at 81 mins when game is over and already petered out. Should have been on for Dennis as soon as the 2nd went in. Really don't get Jollys subs at all inc spending 20 mins with 4 central defenders on the pitch when we're losing. The way Collins was playing I would of got Pollock on early as well. I know I dont rate Collins but he had a shocker today.
Everything we do is so slow and pondering, everyone needs 3 or 4 touches  before they do anything and not one attacker who started the game today should even be here next season. >:(

Boring that wasn't it.

No dynamism in the team and we're back to looking immediately beaten as soon as we fall behind.

Not sure on the subs made.
Grayson actually did alright when he came on at LB though, a tidy left foot, gave us better natural balance and looked to play into people's feet.

Woodford isn't going to change a game when we're 2-0 down.
And it was too late for Burrell to make an impact.

Should've just thrown Pollock, Buckley and Burrell on for the last half hour.

Golfer, I once said that his ambition outweighed his ability and it's starting to show...under Jolley we are regressing and it pains me to say that as I so wanted a hungry, new English manager to succeed here and build a great career in the football league .. unfortunately all I see is another hopeful failing and flailing..time to admit defeat and walk away my Joley, you just ain't up to the job...
