So some people think it's OK to make false bids when someone is trying to do something genuine - no great surprise really!

Get some buckets in the bars on Saturday and let’s try and raise them £1600 on top of whatever this fetches.

Anyone else think other clubs fans (Lincoln) are responsible for this?

Just retards, you get them everywhere.

Why doesn't Michael and the club pull it off eBay and as someone says, get collection buckets on the go, every home game from Saturday until the end of the season with all proceeds going to the seaman's mission then raffle off the actually trophy at the annual awards ceremony...
Surely then, the fishermens mission gets much needed funds and the award would stay with GTFC in the way of it being in a fans hands!!

Why give the same morons the chance to repeat the exercise? We all admired the good intentions but with club rivalries being as they are it was too tempting for others to take the urine. Even if it's a much reduced amount, why not a combo of the Trust and The Fishy take the lead and raise some cash for the Mission? I know there may be some awkward legalities to overcome but something 'in house' seems more appropriate.
This half term, heinous twattery is the exception not the rule.
I was privileged to stand with 12,000 others in Endcliffe Park to watch the Flypast last week. Folk do care, and the Cambridge game is the first chance to contribute. How my £10 gets to The Seaman's Mission, via Ticket Office, Trust Bar or whatever device I don't mind.

The reopened ebay listing has been cancelled. Something else coming up for it

Could we somehow donate money to the trust for them to actually bid.  If successful, the trophy could then be put in one of the bars or something ?

Start a crowd funder of Facebook. Happy to contribute from afar for that.

I don't use E-Bay so please forgive my potential lack of understanding but couldn't the winning bid which turns out to be fake be traced? IP addresses etc

Oh come on, nobody's really surprised are they? It was obvious from the start FFS

Simple !

Just  go in for the raffle so the money raised, we know, will finish up
with Michael's chosen charity.

There's some great people on here who have their hearts in the right
place and who knows, we could see a Fishy winner maybe on the pitch
presenting Mr Jolley with his own trophy.

It's win-win and one way of rubbing some idiot's nose right in it.

I thought we'd bee through this once, Jolley doesn't want the flipping thing!

I'm quite happy to put in a tenner but I don't want raffle tickets, I'll give direct to the Mission, I don't want to risk winning the thing

Could the Trust not put together a fund to buy a set number of tickets and increase the chances of the trophy staying local. If MJ doesn't want it back it would be fitting for it to take pride of place in the Trust Bar.

That Tweet isn't showing for me for some reason? Assuming the top bidder didn't pay up? Can't they just keep going down the bids until they get to a genuine one?

Why don’t we just do a just giving page set up as £1600 target minimum and ask the club to raffle off the trophy at end of season ceremony or carry on with it the current one but doubt will fetch £1600

A some on here will know the Fisherman's Mission is a cause close to my heart so I am more than happy to put in £20. I don't get all those talking about giving it back etc. Let anyone who wants to buy their tickets, sell as many as they can, raise as much as possible and whoever the lucky winner is can do as they please. I think, as a piece of memorabilia, I'd quite like it.

Bought my tickets.  My wife won’t want it on the mantelpiece so not sure what will happen if I win!

Bought a tenner's worth - Mrs Codger will only have it in the house if MJ delivers personally!

Operation ‘Buy a Raffle Ticket’ will demonstrate just how the Majority of honest GTFC supporters respond to things like this!!

It wouldn’t surprise me if that figure was trebled!! Should start a Go Fund Me page where each £1 is equivalent to a Raffle Ticket!! Watch those sales fly!!

That’s my tickets bought. Let’s hope we can get more than the £1,600. It’s in a great cause

I've put in my Tenner.
Would be good if we could have updates of how much has been raised.

£20 in, don’t hold out much hope of winning the thing  though. Agree it would be nice to have an idea of what has been raised.
