I know this was mentioned a while back and several Town fans (myself included) got us at very decent odds for this.

Just thought I'd have a look what the latest price is now and unbelievably Bet Victor are still offering 7/2 for us!!

I know the bookies don't get it wrong very often but I'm really hoping that they've seriously misjudged the situation this time.

I went for the top 7 at 50/1, we’d have to be pretty extraordinary to do that though

I had us to finish top half.

Unfortunately it's part of an acca that includes a top half finish for Ipswich so not likely to see those winnings....

Not being offered a cash out, not sure why.

Apologies, just checked my bet and it was 14/1 I got. Could have sworn it was 16/1.

I believe based on stats (shots for/against & expected goals) we are one of the worst, if not the worst side in league 2. I think that's why we're seeing these surprisingly large odds.

While those stats are generally a very good guide to a team's ability I wonder if we are one of those rare occasions where the stats are very misleading. We've had quite a few sendings off after which we've sat deep, faced loads of shots and not really got in the other half. We also have arguably the best keeper in league 2 so facing a few more shots than other teams isn't as damaging as it would be for other clubs. Our terrible start is probably still sandbagging our stats too.

Basically what I'm saying is the people with bets on us may well have got some pretty good value, we're better than the bookies models think we are.

bloody hell - if you look at those stats we're even worse than county!

what do they say about lies, damned lies and statistics?

Wow - really interesting stats there, as u say bet we are an outlier in terms of doing relatively well with those stats.
Wonder how much we owe mecca's shot stopping ability for keeping us in mid table, along with a fair few backs to the wall games with 10 men hampering our stats as u say.
I think we can all see we are not creative enough but I hasn't realised just how poor we were compared to most teams.

We are also a counter attacking side and are happy to sit back, soak up pressure, and look to hit teams on the break. Stats, while fascinating, don't tell the whole picture. Mk Dongs, and to a lesser extent, Newport, put shot after shot high, wide and not very handsome. MK hit the advertising boards above the stands time and again.

We won both games and got 6 points, which is the only stat that counts.
