442 with Embleton and Woolford as the widemen?

Think it looks more like 352 to me. 3 centre backs in the team, unless Grayson is shielding the back 4.

Thank intercourse for that,

Ring given a proper rest and nice to see cook given a chance.

Well he gave cardwell a fair chance but seems to have felt the same way as we did (unless he’s injured)

Its good to see Cook given another chance with a start

I suppose grayson could be in a holding role but sit in the back 3 when necessary, but would be suprised to see that kind of role given to an inexperienced lad

Looks 5 at the back to me, which doesn't bother me greatly. More bothered that Clifton is still injured, he's the heart of the team.

Agreed! Nice to have a local lad already be that much of an influence that we miss him when he’s not playing at still such a young age though!

Woolford in the middle with Hess and Embleton. Grayson in the back 3.

So why was he brought on midweek, the game was lost at  the time and possibly another 3/4 days rest may have had Harry available for today.

Wasn't it a hamstring Clifton was struggling with earlier in the week?

If it's his ankle now, it's surely totally irrelevant whether he played on Tuesday or not after a different injury?

Watching this i think part of our problem is the players just not quite grasping the way you have to move when you play this style, we were passing it out of defence but lost it because the midfield forgot to come back and give them someone to pass to

I said the same when we played Lincoln, the midfield was never where it should depending on posession.  The Wingbacks need to start higher as well.

We're moving the ball well though and as always we're just not getting that right ball in the final third.

You can be fined for poor discipline in a single match 6 cards I think. Not sure over a season.
Posted by: monkeyboy, January 26, 2019, 3:57pm; Reply: 52
Poor decision by the referee, man there to cover should have been a yellow, good response by the team though.
Posted by: Maringer, January 26, 2019, 3:58pm; Reply: 53
Grayson was covering but technically their striker could have had a shot from the edge of the box before he challenged.

No real complaints, however. If you're trying to cynically rugby tackle someone thinking you can get away with it, you deserve a red card. The ref has been shite so no surprise he'd give it!

A pity because we've otherwise played OK. Both teams mostly nullifying each other in midfield and we've passed it around decently at times. Too much of a gap between the forwards and midfield most of the time so that's something which needs working on in the future when we've got a full complement on the pitch!

Could be a long second half as the players inevitably will tire...

Red card or not we have another sh1t ref this afternoon, nowhere near fit enough to keep up with play.

Bloody hell, don't start that they'll all be at it, we'd finish with 8

I'm always concerned about the 'denying a goal scoring opportunity' fouls, the keeper might have saved it. The only time I think it's 100% justified is if the keeper pulls a striker down or trips him who has got past

Grayson was covering, and  if their lad had shot from where he was it's an odds game to whether he would score or hit the corner flag, seems to me the ref has been too quick to penalise our players whilst giving theirs more allowance, also very foolish Challenge by Davis.

I wonder if because we statistically have received far more than average red cards, referees now come here expecting us to be a certain type of team and are more psychologically conditioned to give us a red

Why do I think of sober parties in breweries when the FA is mentioned?

I've always felt that the majority of ref's brought in for our games are in the main incompetent and we are used as a testing ground by the ref association for refs who aren't up to it.
