Cheapside has now got a load of Soviet era training equipment in the gym.

When asked about potentially facing up to Matt Rhead at Lincoln next week Öhman is fearless. “If he dies, he dies” Ludvig might have said.

Realistically, no one on here knows anything about him and there’s relatively little on the internet to draw from either.

What I would say, is that he was signed by a J-League side not so long ago and it’s by no means a tinpot league, with some sides getting crowds of around 40,000. Grampus Eight, Ohman’s former club, famously signed Gary Lineker from Spurs back in the day and their current squad includes Brazilian international Jo (formerly of Man City game).

The likes of David Villa and Andres Iniesta also play over there. Clearly, they’re very much standout names but the league obviously has money and you’d expect the general standard to be some way north of League Two.

The fact we’ve paid a fee and signed him on a two and a half year deal would suggest Jolley has a high opinion of him. And, yes, I know, Serge Makofo does spring to mind...

Well he played for jolley at Eskiltuna alongside fox so mj knows exactly what he's getting and I suspect he's been after him for a while. He was also capped by Sweden at 2 or 3 age group levels which suggests he has something, as is the fact that Grampus8 who were in the top division in Japan signed him
The worrying thing is his last 3 years record is relegation after relegation after relegation

2016 Grampus8 (12-28,000 crowds) - bottom Japan's top division
2017 Eskiltuna (c.5000 crowds) - relegated from swedes top division
2018 BK (2000 crowds) - bottom of swedens top division

He does like to get a yellow card as well - in Japan he managed 7 yellows and 1 red in 13 games. In jolley we trust........ (Let's just hope he's more fox than Robles)

Yeah, they're all Swedes in Hull. Or turnips.  ;D

Google translate pronounces it Errman as you suggest. O-man without the umlaut. Which is a shame because we could otherwise recycle the Omar Bogle song you came up with.

I don't think Davis will be available on Saturday.

The concussion protocol states they cannot do anything at all for 14 days, but then after that there are a few stages to go through before being able to participate in full contact stuff. Effectively it's 19 days before the player can play in a match again.

Didn’t realise that - frustrating if so as Saturday will be the 18th day.

Either way, I can’t see Öhman starting just yet (though I imagine he may get a place on the bench). It’s possible we may see Ring though in the event Hendrie has to fill in at centre half. Looking forward to seeing him play; hopefully it works out better than our last Scandinavian left back.

Re: Whitmore. The FA suspension list was inaccurate prior to the Palace game. It said he was banned for 3 matches, but the ban end date was listed as 05/01/19 (which was only the 2nd match). He is 100% banned for Saturday despite what the FA suspensions list currently shows.

I wonder if this latest signing means that Famewo was always going back or his injuries have mitigated against MJ's confidence in his availability. When fit , he has tremendous potential, possibly higher than what we can offer. Similarly, Ali koiki was headed for better things.
Hendrie has earned the appreciation of fans and staff for his adaptability and performance levels. I would expect at least an enquiry to Shrewsbury for possible transfer. Jolley has conservative traits. He likes what he knows and frequently references 'character.' This is fine to a degree, but I hope Ludvig and Sebastian also prove to have some steel to go with their boy next door features.

Similiar to scottish premiership id say, malmo similiar to celtic and then the quality drops more towards the bottom, so difficult to pick just one english league i’d say

Scottish prem varies wildly from top to bottom. Celtic in champions league. But tait and clay left us from non league and walked straight into a Scottish prem team. Clay has come back and again joined conference level team hasn't he? (Orient).
I think that is his point, it's the same in swedish prem with teams ranging over a wide level of English leagues in terms of ability equivalent.

I do not think you can compare Scottish prem with Swedish allsvenskan. The Swedish Allsvenskan has more different teams that can win not only one or two teams who win. Malmö came third in 2018.

Swedish Allsvenskan Winner 1998-2018

Hard to say. The 5-6 best teams Championship I say and down to league 2 for the 3-4 worst teams.

How do you think our 2 new boys will do Sweden ?

I think they will do okay.
But maybe it will get a bit of a difficult start with the pace and their long stay from football.
We in Sweden usually have good team players besides Zlatan then.
So expect nothing spectacular.

Ive always admired the Swedish national side - not spectacular but always hard working and energetic

Also Seb has a bit of a hair stuck above his upper lip
