i think Pringle has been a little off the last couple of games in general play, obviously his set piece delivery will be a miss but i can see why Jolley has gone for that change.

A point would be a good point today...but all three ideally as i am feeling greedy.

With only one recognised central defender it's going to be tough today. Exeter are in form, again after three straight wins.

A draw would be a fantastic result.

Should be interesting this one - we need to keep it tight and if we can go in at HT 0-0 that’ll be something

Lincoln recently before losing to Crewe have been lucky in some games by getting last minute winners and equalisers.  Hopefully they start getting punished more lol.

Remarkable there was even any question that was going to stand as a goal. Their bloke was stood on the the byline behind Whitmore when knocking it in. Linesman should have had his flag up immediately rather than after the entire Town squad and referee marched over to interrogate him.

We don't look too bad going foward, but we look like a team with a RB at CB when we are defending, nothing against RHJ he's doing a cracking job against a strong attacking team. Hopefully Macca can keep us in it the defence holds and if we can grab another goal or 2 we might just get another win.

What was the goal like?

well a decent watch that first half....both sides playing decent football....we are certainly playing better than in the last couple of games...playing to feet in short triangles...Embleton seeing alot more of the ball today..Clifton and Hessentahler on the front foot picking up the majority of the second balls...calm on the ball throughout.  Very entertaining as a result.
A few scary moments, their disallowed goal i can only praise the officials for doing their jobs as it didnt look a clear cut decision, my initial thought was the guy who scored came onto the pitch after having run off  it after chasing down an earlier ball so when it was played back in he may have been out of play but popped on to tap it in..either that or he was back on but was behind Macca so maybe only one of our players between him and the goal...either way great spot from the lino.

Had a scary 15 min period where we seemed to let Exeter back in...we dropped off and gave them too much space and giving them to much time out wide to work crossing opportunities, when we have played higher and pressed higher Exeter look second best...thankfully we regained the upper hand in the last 5 minutes of the half again.

Open game...could go either way.

Doesn't matter if the bloke was off the pitch before he came back on to tap in for their disallowed goal. Law 11.4 states:

"An attacking player may step or stay off the field of play not to be involved in active play. If the player re-enters from the goal line and becomes involved in play before the next stoppage in play, or the defending team has played the ball towards the halfway line and it is outside their penalty area, the player shall be considered to be positioned on the goal line for the purposes of offside."

Unbelievable effort that. Some superb performances topped by Mckeown who made some fabulous saves. Says a lot about a squad when you have so many injuries and dig in like that. Truly awesome.

Well that was hard viewing.......sat way too deep for comfort IMO....A Rose playing right back after we got the 2nd...just invited them on and on

scrappy dogged determined 2nd half after a quite accomplished 1st half ... Whitmore sending off completely changing the outlook of the game...although we have got the points would have liked us to have pushed up at least another 10 yds as think we made it much harder for ourselves...Mitch Rose was trying to get the back line up but to no avail....we just hung on, Macca with some cracking saves...Pollock a couple of great blocks and big headers.

Fantastic effort by those that ended the game.

Just an easy home win against Mansfield now.....with even less players to choose from  ;D

The difference is that we have a manager now who knows what he is doing, learning from his mistakes and can only progress further. What a fantastic result and great credit to the manager , team and support staff in making this happen. It feels great to be a town fan and hopefully the dark days are behind us. I know it's non-pc on this site but thanx to JF and the Board for finding this manager and sticking by him.

It says something for the spirit in the team now that they can keep scrapping wins against the odds, If we can do a good job on the recruitment side and add some quality to the team we could get a firm foothold at the top of this league and soon get in L2. Hopefully before the supporters all have heart attacks

Can i also just give praise to Mattie Pollock, being rushed on in them circumstances at 17 years old in his first match, he was absolutely fantastic, won important headers, threw is body on the line and also saved a definable goal with a goal line clearance.

Fantastic M.J. is willing to throw young body’s in there like Pollock and Akheem who won us that penalty with his pace.

Fantastic.

Problem now is that Jolley is likely to win manager of the month and we know what always seems to happen in the game following such an award...  >:(

It is great that we have a team that seems totally united in what they are trying to do. They aren’t a collection of individuals, but guys willing to help one another for the collective benefit.
That is something the back room staff must have helped to instil and long may it continue.

I am sure there will be setbacks, defeats,even poor performances but hope the fan base will really get behind the team starting v Mansfield on Tuesday

Exeter were a very good side but our defence were outstanding particularly Macca, fantastic effort from the players, putting their bodies on the line, they penned us in for most of the game but couldn't find a way to beat us, well done Town and great support again as usual from the following Mariners.
