The replay is tonight.

Not sure who I fancy in the next round. Billericay away would (I think) be on TV but Chesterfield is closer and we would take more. Don't think there's much between the two sides either.

Chesterfield are excrement. Get them

Pretty sure they've already picked the TV ties and Saturday/Sunday split for Round 2.

Chesterfield would be the preferred choice, , , ,

Just had a look at how they are doing this season , , , , not great at all!

Won the first 3 League games and not won any since! They seem to draw loads, , ,

I don't really understand this. Why would be on Sunday's highlight programme?

Chesterfield have gone 17 league games without a win, but are draw specialists, having drawn the last six. They are unbeaten in nine games in all competitions at the moment. They struggled at home to Havant and Waterloovile last weekend and resorted to sending in high cross after high cross to intimidate them in the second half - it didn't work. Think either game will be difficult, but we have the tools at our disposal to see either of them off - maybe after a replay?

Think Chesterfield would be the easier tie. That's not to say I'm confident by any means.

Undefeated in 9  ;)

Also I reckon they are hoping Notts County come in for him (as rumoured) so they don't have to pay him off.

Not really sure why, but my understanding from what was posted on here earlier is that if it's Chesterfield it will be a 2pm kick-off on the Sunday but if Billericay win it will be the usual 3pm Saturday kick-off.

If we play on the Sunday then I assume as per round 1 and last season the BBC will host an afternoon programme with cameras at all the Sunday games and show goals just after they happen.

Didn't realise just how bad things are at Chesterfield, only won once in 19 games (and that was an FA Cup Qualifying game). They could realistically be looking at 3 relegations on the bounce if there not careful

They've got a player who can score three in one game (not three in a season like our strikers) Very worrying!  ;)

For me this is the tie better suited to Town. A game against a struggling non-league side but in comfortable and relatively familiar surroundings and, I'd imagine, a relatively sedate atmosphere - it's not your typical non-league FA Cup tie.

We'll have to watch out for Tom Denton who scored a hat trick tonight though. He's a pretty proflific striker in non-league circles, but built like a slightly stockier Stick Jones. Not sure we're all that well equipped to deal with that kind of threat.

Local FA Cup away day, good pubs, decent facilities for away fans, chance of a plum tie in the third round, break from league worries. Every man and their dog to this one?

Cracking atmosphere last time we were there.

Always the potential to be a banana skin when playing a team from the league below.  Best way to stop that is to make it a massive game for us as well.  Packed noisy away end and the team up for it with the prospect of getting into the third round hat.

£12,500 for showing up and being filmed for highlights
45% of gate receipts (probably about £30,000)
£54,000 if we win, plus gate receipts for another round.

So if we win, we're about £170,000 up on where we'd have been had we not beaten MK.  A handy sum of money in our situation.

The 'Class of 92' are little more than the figureheads themselves, don't forget. Half of the club is owned by a Singaporean billionaire. Who also owns Valencia. Which is flipping weird, if you ask me.

Posted above that IF we beat Chesterfield, we should have made about £170K to date.

The potential income could then rise considerably.  Possible big gate and TV money against a top club.  Or, a poor draw with a much better chance of going further.  We could get another win bonus against a weaker club.  And gate money.

If we beat Chesterfield and get drawn at Old Trafford that would be worth close to £1m for the club with gate receipts and TV money which could transform the season and give Jolley some real spending power in the January window.

Not that'll ever happen.
