Currently favourite to get the Notts County job!!

Do they want to be relegated.

He's hardly torn up any trees with Chesterfield in The National League.

Heard him on talksport a while ago, and that infamous interview when he got the Chesterfield job. He's a bit mad, no doubt but I got the definite impression he didn't really care that much anymore. I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

It's the old shelf-life thing again, 5 years ago he and Phil Brown would be top of the list for wanted managers, now they both seem to be on the decline and less coveted for the latest vacancies.
Notts do seem bonkers enough currently to take either on though, probably with 4 year deals(unsure)

I read somewhere Notts County are losing £1.5m a YEAR, 30 grand a week. How can that be possible? I expect out entire playing budget is around 30k a week.

Just live within your means, John Fenty rightly gets stick as we've been a disgrace but the club is not spending beyond it's means. Notts County get what they deserve IMO.

Couldn't agree more about Fenty and spending within your means. We don't have people with the money to do what Notts County and other bigger clubs like Leeds are doing.

Yes it is prudent to spend within your means - whilst  ensuring that you still do not get relegated.

Why on earth would Notts County go for him unless they are having to drastically slash their budget. They still chucked a fair bit of cash about in the Summer didn't they on Kellett and Dennis?

Already talk of Nolan going back! Wonder if he'll be offered reduced terms?

Hursty IS interested. Apparently..though the article doesn't say as such despite the headline(icon_rolleyes)

Are you forgetting the 3,000,000 pounds we lost when he took us out of the League?

Fair point well made. I am not one for praising our non chairman. Quiet the opposite, it's time he buggered off. But you have to be fair if you're prepared to have a go at him. The books are balanced for the most part. More than likely as he wants rid of the club and isn't prepared to put any money in, I'm fine with that as I don't want his 'benign debt' growing as it's a like a noose around the clubs neck.
