Reserves I think. Not really worth bothering with really

Good run out for a few players and a decent wedge of cash if we win. Presume we will qualify for the next round if we win tonight but can't summon the enthusiasm to check.

Between us and donny to qualify, could come down to GD if we win tonight and they beat notts tomorrow

10 grand, although it could be more if we progress, unlikely as our game is before the other one.

I'd really like two u21 teams to get to the final and for them to have to televise a reserve fixture in an empty wembley and show everyone what theyve done to this competition

And so you should be if you want. And without getting grief.
It’s a personal choice, and I will not attend a single minute of it.
That includes Wembley!!

But I actually wish the team well. For the sake of the prize money and the moral of the team, I’d be happy if we won it. Ideally though with an average crowd of 26.

What a shame. When we returned to the league, I was looking forward to the equivalent of the Auto Windscreens trophy. A league two club's only realistic chance of winning a cup. Unfortunately, I will never support this format which I believe is an attempt to normalise EFL Clubs v Premier league B teams. The Premier league have thrown a bit of money (nothing for them) into it as as investment before they try and normalise their reserve sides playing FL opposition in the league.

GTFC XI: Russell, Dixon, Whitmore, Hall-Johnson, Fox, Woolford, Welsh (c), Hooper, Cook, A. Rose, Cardwell.
Our reserves versus theirs...seems fair.

This will be controversial but heart felt.

My advice is; if you love your club, if you love football then forget any other principles and get to every game that you can.

You never know what's around the corner, be it health, finances, moving away to work, whatever.

Anyway you might be watching the next Chrissy Waddle, Shearer or Gazza (if there could be another)

I for one would be there tonight if it wasn't for one of the above.

My take is this competition is a real threat to the very existence of clubs like ours so if you love your club do not bow to pressure.

We have seen this week that the ‘leading’ Championship clubs now want a bigger slice of the EFL tv pot which would further reduce funding in the lower leagues. Also the Prem clubs are donating cash to give Scudamore a £5m pay off. The point of mentioning these is it is all about greed. Sooner or later a proposal will be put forward for ‘B’ teams to be in the League set up and, as been proven, owners can easily be bought.

I am not slating anyone who chooses to attend but I do hope they have weighed up the views from both sides and haven’t buried there heads in the sand

First half done. Probably bit unlucky to be losing in all fairness. Started well but lost our way a bit in the middle 15 minutes before we started playing it on the deck a bit more. Had chances but lack of composure really showing. Akeem not had any chance to show much as seems to be playing deeper than he should. Most doing ok really. Woodford playing the ball round ok at times but just to slow. Welsh looks pedestrian also.
Newcastle showed a bit more in front of goal would be the big difference for.me and have not really created a great deal.

Need to keep it on the ground with someo movement and we look like we could do some good things

Town done ok. Hard to judge really as it against a team which is impossible to judge what sort of level they are. Certainly have some talent and some dross.
Defence looked ok for us but disappointed in hall Johnson. Not particularly quick or good defensively.

Played some decent football on and off; several players nowhere near fully fit. Wooly had a decent game, Rose wasted out wide but won a lot of headers, Robles ran around alot when he came on, Fox looked knackered after 20 mins, Cook was like marmite, cracking goal, and cracking miss. Cardwell was a nuisance, JJ was JJ, Wright looked v quick when he came on, wont comment on Welsh as nothing to comment about in 2nd half

See that's where the problem lies, you're clearly getting out of the car the wrong side, your left side of your body isn't used to that kind of movement when it's used to you getting out and using your right hand side of your body to elevate and hold your body weight as you climb out.

Yeah but you can't afford to hang around after a police car chase while they are smashing the windows with a baton.

Rose played well out on the left and Max Wright looked dangerous for the few minutes he was on the pitch. With 7 substitutes, there should be a space for him on the bench and some opportunities. With Embleton and Pringle causing defenders problems, the pace of Wright in the last 10 minutes could cause another problem late on.

Doubt RHJ will be fit Saturday and Fox looked off the pace a bit tonight so expect Hendrie and Famewo to start Saturday.

Just to back that up with a personal experience, Tonight I approached the recycling bin from the right side instead of the usual left. Ahkeem reminds me of J-P Pitman in his bursts of pace and running style. Michel Owen also suffered with hamstrings and adapted his game. Hopefully, some changes in conditioning and gradual increase in game time will give some protection.
