If anyone needs their Sunday night football fix, free view sports currently showing first leg of copa libertadores final live. Added spice is that  it's river plate v baca juniors which is THE argentine Derby.definitely one that is on my bucket list .incessant noise and a cracking game so far

Forza, was it you who liked to watch Rayo Vallecano in Spain?

If you think we have fierce rivalries here a fan of one the clubs burnt his friend who supports the other club’s house down this week. Pratto just gets an equaliser to make it 2-2. Is it one of the many Prattos we’ve had play for us or another one?

FT today....Barcelona 3 - 4 Betis

I went to a Rayo game a couple of years ago while on my stag do in Madrid. Was only a pre-season friendly but wasn't a bad atmosphere. Interesting ground with 2 big old side stands and only an "end" stand at one end.

I like Rayo Vallecano and won a few quid on them last season. Hoping they can pull out the bottom 3 this season now they're in La  Liga. Can't believe that Real Betis victory over Barca today.

Why have Sky stopped covering Spanish football?

Loved watching it.

great mural at the other end though. was in the side stand and never smelt/seen so much ganja been smoked at a football match!
each half had a rendition of la marseillaise whilst the banner of an AK47 was interesting. love their kit as well

The Rayo fans are great with loads of socialist banners. I have a pic of me and my mates sat near their President wearing our Town shirts.

If you like this kind of atmosphere, then you definetly have to come to the Millerntor in Hamburg to watch St. Pauli play.  A lot of 'special cigarettes' everywhere, a lot of beer and leaning very left for the politics .

As there are mentions of political leanings at football clubs, are Town a proper working mans club or because of our non-chairmans views could we be leaning to the right?

I managed to get a ticket to see River v Boca when I was in Argentina about 10 years ago. I've been to a lot of games all over the world but I can honestly say that nothing comes close. At that time the police locked the home fans until the away fans had been cleared from the ground. Boca won an admittedly very poor game so their fans kicked off, the police took ages to clear them - they wouldn't leave. I was still locked in the ground nearly 2 hours after the game! I did go to the Boca ground the next day and manage to scrawl "GTFC" onto a graffiti wall. Must go back one day to see if it is still there.

Lucky sodomist! The other obvious one for a bucket list is one of the istanbul derbies.
I'd also like to see red star Belgrade at their place in a big game having heard that wall of sound v Liverpool last week.dont think I've ever heard such a loud support, you could hardly hear the commentators.

That's a good article.  I've been to a Feyenoord match, it might have been because it was a wet cold sunday lunchtime kick off but it wasn't anything special when I was there. Valencia is good but only when either Barca or Real are in town. For a very good day out Dortmund is very good, I was there as an away fan with Werder, we took 8k and were loud but when the sud-tribune gets going it  is very loud there.  The Millentor is great for a Friday night game but it's not as much fun as it used to be, I stood on a cinder terrace under a tree when I first went, it's a lot posher now but at least it's in Hamburg and not that dump out at Stellingen.

The Gothenburg derby I went to about 15 years back was amazing. Only about 12,000 there as they played it at the old Ullevi stadium, but choreographed clapping and singing done by both clubs with fans and the big loud hailers stood on elevated terracing. Beer was reasonably priced and you could take it into the seated stand with you. Which was okay on the first few before half time, but after five or six it became slightly more awkward.

Espanyol's on the next ground to visit when we go to Barcelona again, good working class ethos there.

I really enjoyed Valencia .thought it was a great atmosphere even though it was only against Alaves.if you get in the bar opposite where the team coach arrives it's awesome. A huge brass band situated on the 2nd tier open up with the club song as the team arrives.and the crowd goes wild, as they say.
Stadium of light in lisboa is amazing as well. Just a stadium that takes your breat away

Second leg has been eventful and it’s not kicked off yet (on the pitch anyway). Crowd trouble results in Boca team bus having all the window put through. 3 players in hospital - two with glass/eye injuries along with the driver hit in the head with a rock. Carlos Tevez gets a lung full of CS spray and vomits on his way into the ground. Boca want it called off but FIFA President Gianni Infantino tells them that they must play the game tonight or they are disqualified which would obviously hand the title over to their arch rivals.

We have to move games forward to 1300ko for some daft twits in illfitting coats to gesture at each other...

Match suspended.  I’m a bit disappointed as I was banking on it for tonight’s entertainment.

It's now on tonight (Sunday) at 8pm on freesports, Sky 422. I believe it's now going to be played with no fans present, don't think that will stop the players kicking lumps out of each other though.

Just for information, the game has been postponed until further notice, evidently an announcement to be made Tuesday now.

Such a shame, the first leg was an absolutely brilliant match. One of the best I've seen in a long time. Played at a blistering pace. It was essentially 90 minutes of 2 teams playing like they were a goal down in injury time.

First leg currently being shown on free sports, followed by live coverage of the final. Think k.o. Is 20.00?

Behind the goals reminds me of the Pontoon in the seventies, prior to all seated.
