Correct me if I'm wrong but will this be Jolley's first match in 'bad' weather conditions? (For anyone not in the area, significant rain since the early hours which is set to continue through the match).

Will this effect our line up/style of play?

I've always believed heavy rain favours us at BP but that's because I've always fancied us to "get up and at them" (perhaps unjustifiably).

Port Vale would appear to be suited to route one style of play with Tom Pope (6"3) & Ricky Miller (6"2) starting up top. Will MJ continue with a winning line up or would dropping Clifton out the middle be justified? I think it's going to be a dog fight in the centre with PV desperate to get the ball out wide & the importance today of mopping up the second ball.

I also think today is a huge game for McKeown. Tough weather conditions and going against a team which will look to exploit his weaknesses on the cross. Could be the key man for us.

If it gets churned up in the middle, route 1 is the way to go - Cardwell & Thomas up top in a 4-4-2?

Rain has been steady not substantial - more likely to be slippy than boggy.

The suggestion that Jolley has never been involved in a game when the weather is wet amuses me!

jesus wept...

Must've imagined that blizzard at Sincil Bank last year.

Of course it's not. But we've been blessed with good footballing conditions since April.

I was merely trying to raise debate around if Jolley would acknowledge the conditions, against an opponent to which the wet would seemingly favour.

That rain free 3 years in Burnley obviously never made the headlines!

And how did we play those conditions? He played Clifton in CM...

We didn't deal with anything launched up to Rhead. 3-0 down in 40 minutes.

Up and at em with wellies worn rather than boots would be my advice, and to ensure our passing and shooting improve they should be worn on the wrong feet ;)

Bit tricky when all our strikers have two left feet.

There are some say he even parted the waves at the end of last season.  :)

Perfect conditions.

Unless the Fentydome is built, we have weather. This weather is ideal for playing in. Love it.

Ricky Miller isn’t 6ft 2.

Watch the highlights of that game and tell me where Rhead was involved in any of the goals :)

Up and at 'em weather. Used to love playing in these conditions myself.

The only effect was he wore a coat for the first half.

Pitch looked beautiful for a good soaking.

Sat behind the dugout see M.J. get a rollicking off the fourth official for throwing a bottle of water down in disgust after YET ANOTHER dodgy ref decision.

He likes giving those water bottles some grief does M.J.  lol

Nice to see his passion and screaming to keep the tempo up to come out and not play deep.

You can clearly see this is a work-in-progress by the frustration he shows.
