#GTFC XI: McKeown, Famewo, Collins, Davis, Hendrie, Woolford, Rose, Hessenthaler, Embleton, Cook, Thomas.

Subs: Russell, Hooper, Robles, Clifton, Vernam, Whitmore, Pringle. #WeAreTown https://t.co/suL1XdnA0g

Surprised to see Whitmore dropped, been our strongest CB IMO

Agree but Collins wont be dropped when hes fit so its going to be Davis or Whitmore for the bench

Good to see Embleton get a start, good stong side with players in their strongest positions.

Come on boys!

Whitmore didn't cover himself in glory for the first goal last week with the poor pass to Woolford but then more importantly allowing the no.10 inside to shoot on his right foot which MJ has said since he warned the players about.

Interested to see how this eleven lines up. Could be 442, 433 or 4231.

Can't complain with the line up, more positive about my 1-0 win prediction now.

Key that Rose and Hess are on full form, win the ball and distribute effectively.

He was absolutely awful last week. At fault for the first goal and looked panicked in every subsequent attack. I think he might have dropped him for his own good this week. It was a strangely shaky performance for him.

4-4-2 - ish

JT thinks Hess on the left & Woolford playing 'deeper'.

Thomas playing as more advanced forward.

As tagg says above, playing quite well - without creating loads of chances. Famewo, Hess, Vernam playing well. Thomas hasn't managed to get into the game as much as we'd like but does add a presence we've been missing.

Think vernam coming on for cook has improved us personally. We look comfortable in defence but disjointed, especially out wide, when attacking in my opinion

Playing OK, Embleton missed a one on one and its just a tadge dodgy at the back. We just dont have that final ball or if someone gets to the byline in the area theres a lack of options available. Rose is the pick of the players so far.

Not really. Started well but Oldham more on top as the half went on. Both teams have had one clear cut chance in a poor game with two poor teams playing unconfident disjointed football. We're certainly going more direct into the front two. If Collins keeps giving the forward he's marking enough time and space to control and turn because he's dropping off too much, it will cost us. Other defenders are getting tight why can't he? Davis winning every header, Rose battling well, Embleton and Woolford fairly invisible. Cook did well until he had to go off, Vernam and Hessenthaler doing well picking up second balls as Thomas is providing more presence up top.

3 points up for grabs. JT doing my head in with his interpretation of events and we're only a few games into my i-Follow season..

Collins needs dropping. He’s not up to the job, we’ve got to really get to the root of these issues at the club. It cannot just be the management and playing staff.

Attendances will drop from today onwards and it’ll be hard to bring people back.

Who would take over from Jolley then, there is no one available, we have to stick with Jolley we have to stop the chopping and changing of managers.

If we keeping changing managers there is no continuity we have to keep a manager and give him a chance to build.

When you rely on free transfers and loans every year, Jolley is working on scraps.

The issue is no width, Cardwell is the only forward who busts a gut.

Whatever happens its now a problen.

balderdash, its only a few weeks ago that everyone was raving about the better quality signings and loans we've got this season. The squad is much stronger than Slade's, the problem is Jolley, either he's a excrement tactician and coach or its so complicated either technically or more like theoretically that yer average footballer can't flipping understand it

Were relying on flipping free transfers and loans every season what do you expect, we can't get players to here, its a run down town and club.

Hessenthaler is our best signing and he won't great today like most players.

We will just have go back to 4-5-1 for the rest of the season.

Without width how you going to create goals, we don't cross balls into the box, forwards get no service, dosen't matter if you got Scott Vernon or Wes Thomas a centre forward needs balls into the box.

We never make there defence or keeper work, with crosses coming into the box.

Collins has to be dropped. 2 goals down to him just running away from the strikers when they get the ball 30 yards out and letting them run into the area, rule one dont turn your back and dont let them cut inside if your defending 1 on 1,    shocking. ??)

That's enough for me, MJ has had enough games now to show us how progression is. He has 2 sidekicks assisting him, so extra wages being flung out, and its just not working. The Jolley trust doesn't work for me. A travesty in Bignott getting the boot after a 3-0 win at Blackpool if MJ keeps his job. So where do we go from here? Its a dire situation and needs to be addressed now. MJ said before the season started that he wants to make Blundell Park a fortress, and all this malarkey off the soccer pitch by being smarmy with fans, it doesn't work for me. The players don't want to play for him, its de ja vous again. Get a hard headed manager in who will shake them up and play, its dire right now. Maybe Shaun Cunnington and Cockers were at the match for a reason, sign them up Fenty to take over. End of.

If you read the thread correctly, you will see that a poster commented that Hurst could be back, meaning he is likely to be sacked at Ipswich (which unfortunately, as I can't stand the twit, he isn't)

because he is proving to be a bigger loser there than Jolley is at BP

He wasn't a loser at Grimsby he was just Mr Average ear-cupping cocky littleYorkie illegitimate who took us up (just) after 6 seasons of shite

I sat there in the pontoon, nervously anticipating a spanking from the get go, yet we set off pretty well and after 25 minutes you could sense people actually thinking and feeling we had gone out and showed some promise, Cook goes off, Vernham  comes on, who should've been.doing the same job as Cook but wasn't,and it all went to rats mammaries....
Collins has to be dropped now, he's too slow and he's backed up far to easily in fear of being turned over.
Famewo tried hard but put the ball into touch far too often...
Woolie, why the hell is on the left side of midfield when we all know he is far more suited to running down the right and taking players on with trickery!!..
Sorry but I'm sick of hearing the same old lines from Jolley and if the next 3 games bare any resemblance to todays shower it's tine for him and limbrick to be shown the revolving door,
