To be honest I thought we were nailed on to lose today but bar the penalty we never put a foot wrong. You can see the hype from Preston fans about Welsh who was immense alongside Woolford who will have given their left back nightmares tonight.Clifton on his natural position can be proud of his effort alongside the rest , Jolley is giving back some dignity to this team that we haven't seen in many years. Thomas came on and stroked the ball around impressively.
Whoever finishes above Lincoln will be promoted and I believe we have no fear of anything in this division given time and patience.

The key is now putting in these kind of performances more often.

It is great that we have given 5000 home fans a performance. If we can do well in the next 2 away games, many of them will hopefully return for the Yeovil game.

2 tough away games now to test us, before we are back at the Park. Been a pretty tough start, Macc game aside, but we should really have 6 points from 9 right now, which is a solid start. The time to judge will be when we have settled down and got a regular starting 11. On today's small cameo, Thomas will be shifting someone out of the starting 11, when he gets up to speed.

Alan Buckley's first campaign with the club started with a 4-1 defeat and early exit from the League Cup. Not quite the same as AB didn't have a full close season with the club, but both he and MJ had to build a new squad from 7 or 8 players. We finished 9th and flirted with the play-offs until the last couple of weeks and of course had that incredible FA Cup run. That would do me for this season - we know what happened in the next two seasons with Birtles et al...
