Fat Bob could have been a real player for Town.  I was at Bradord when he got injured  :o Got to be Heggarty

Not one of those names deserves to be mentioned next to the other 20 on that list imo

A list to give everyone hope they might one day make it as a pro. Even Grimsby Pete with two new knees!

Good god! Has to be Hegarty really, although hats off to Ashton for what must be one of the best GTFC goals to minutes ratios.

This.

Can we leave number free in case we want to strengthen with a loan signing later in the season?

Nick Hegarty, got a bit of a raw deal me thinks

Tommy Forecast if for no other reason than looking back on it now it's funny that he ever became a professional footballer and was tipped for a future England cap. The other players on the list aren't really memorable for any reason.

Wow - what a terrible group of players. Let’s just break those players down a minute.

Neil Murray - Scottish midfielder on loan from Mainz in Germany under Lennie Lawrence. Came off the bench a couple of times.

Robert Taylor - Looked relatively handy when he was on loan for a month. Signed him the following season permanently and was injured almost immediately. Must’ve played 4/5 games in two spells over two seasons.

Ashley Hildred - YTS grad who didn’t even get a sniff of the bench in the 2 seasons he was in the squad.

Nick Hegarty - One of only two players on the list who actually had a stretch in the team. Wasn’t terrible but wasn’t good enough to get anywhere near a list like this.

Paul Ashton - Played 1 game and scored in a LDV Vans Trophy game, ended up at Brigg Town.

Nicky Rizzo - Loanee who played a single game.

Simon Heslop - Loanee who played a handful of games to a below average standard.

Tommy Forecast - Loanee keeper who was pretty shocking.

Arnaud Mendy - Yet another Loanee who played once or twice and wasn’t great.

Josh Sunter - YTS grad released before he played a game.

Scott Vernon - No description needed

Ahkeem Rose - Hasn’t kicked a ball yet but I dare say if he performs well on his debut he will surpass everyone in this list in fondness.

My vote reluctantly goes to Hegarty

What the lists are increasingly showing is how poor e  been as a club in the Fishy era. So it’s not Fenty’s daily it’s Rob’s 😉

Actually it’s got to be Nick Heggarty. Not the world’s best footballer but he got a lot of assists and created potential opportunities through sheer hard work. He never gave up and he had the right attitude during a time associated with journeymen who couldn’t give a toss.

Heggativity!

Ahkeem Rose. The hat trick he scored against Crewe today to clinch the League 2 title was amazing.  ;)

I think on reflection we can move on to 22 and have 21 and 23 as wild cards for 2 remaining players in the 23-man squad.

Hegarty was no way near as bad as people made out.  He wasn't a world beater but he was solid and honest.  Created loads of chances, just a shame we didn't have anyone capable of finishing them.

Just looked and he hardly played in that relegation season before he was released, anyone know why this was?  I'm not saying it was like leaving a world-beater out the side but christ almighty there was some junk in that side that season.

Josh Sunter - YTS grad released before he played a game.

Think he came off the bench at half time for one game when a defender got injured. So 1 game maybe?

An awful list

Yeah, he came on in the 2nd half of that Aldershot dead rubber in the last (regular) game of the 14/15 season. Think it was a couple of days after signing his pro deal.
