Kingsley Black.......I fondly remember his equaliser at Wembley in the Auto Windscreens Shield final which ultimately led to us winning it.

Brian Clough paid £1.5 Million for a man who won 30 international caps. There really is no contest its got to be Kingsley Black.

Connell was great for one season, but Black was better for longer for us at a higher level so Black for me too.

I suppose it’s a generational thing. It’s got to be Black looked at objectivily but many people wouldn’t have seen him. Bit like my generation with Rafferty etc.
Black

Black was a good player for us, but I always saw him as steady rather than spectacular (I also don't see another club signing him for a lot of money as relevant for his gtfc form, I didn't pick Paul Warhurst as #9!).
Connell on the other hand got me out of my seat countless times in 10/11 (particularly the first half of it); a sole bright spot in a shite side.
So him.
Menno Willems gets a mention for his lethal set pieces (that became lethal only to pedestrians once we'd paid £160k for him)

Sums my thoughts up well.
I was always left a little disappointed with Black in a Town shirt. The absolute embodiment of everything that I became bored with towards the end of the second Buckley era. Tidy, clever, no pace and a rare end product. Connell was spectacular, albeit as a flat-track bully, in a season that was otherwise abject.

Same for me really. Connell scored some superb goals in an ultimately disappointing season. Black deserves a mention too for scoring our first ever goal at Wembley, although I reckon these days it would go down as a Jimmy Glass own goal. So Connell for me too, one bright light in that first non-league season, even though he wanted out from about Christmas.

I've missed out on the last few selections.
Got to be Connell, as he got me out of my seat far more often than Black did. Kingsley was a very steady player in a side of much better overall quality than Connel had the mispleasure to play in. I agree with others that Black was steady rather than exciting. Some of Connell's goals will live long in the memory. Not much of what Black did, has.

I remember him curling in a perfect top corner free kick at the Osmond end once. Unfortunately, it was indirect!

Connell was excellent for us in non league,
Black was steady for us in 2/3 divisions above,
I was a striker so I will go for Connell . ;)
