Wonder if we are very closer to any more additions like a main striker or even a goalkeeper coach.

Think it is more likely we get a keeper coach who can double up as number 2 for circa £700pw as it is hard to bring in a keeper coach on the money we are offering.

We were turned down by a forner Braintree keeper coach

Fair question, do we need a keeper coach? or a player who was a top keeper and can stand in as a keeper for Macca if required.

Who coached the likes of Batch, Sherwood or any of the other good keepers we`ve  had in the past?

I'd expect at least 1 through the doors this week

Very few sides had a goalkeeping coach back then though.   Every club has someone in the building dedicated to goalkeeping coaching now.

In an ideal world we would have a coach and a back up goalkeeper.  Problem with a guy doubling up is that he can't really coach himself, then if called upon the question hangs over how sharp he is.  Can understand the relative gamble though in doubling the role up.

Listening to James’ interview yesterday it would suggest that during the season the keepers are over in goalie corner, it would be pretty excrement if it were just James by himself in the corner....maybe he could have a ball on a string ?

I understand Macca`s situation but how did we do in the past, could it not be that the keeper trains hard with the group and then takes his place in the sticks when mini training matches are held, and when strikers are practising penalties and free kicks etc, ( additional specialised coaching can be taken by MJ from Google search ) ;)

Would be happy with a youth keeper as no 2 and then should Macca sustain an injury we look to the short-term loan market. A dedicated GK coach is essential nowadays.

If you want to improve a keeper and make sure they are fulfilling their potential or at least moving towards it then in this day and age you need a specialist keeper coach.

It’s no good just sticking Macca in goal during training, the footballing world has moved on. That does nothing to improve a keepers overall skills.

Yeah quite. If top keepers have a coach then expecting a 4th tier one to stay at the top of his game by fielding a few shots at the end of training is nuts.

He needs some proper Sunday League warming up.  9 or 10 outfield players with 3 or 4 different balls smashing it from 10 yards to make themselves feel better.

Footballers nowadays, don't get me started.  ;)

Alex Kiwomya was in Cleethorpes over the weekend and told a  fan directly that he's signing for us. So that should be revealed today right? Unless of course this person was bullshitting like usual and just making a guess based on speculation, hoping to be right so they don't look like a right twit and liar.  ;D

I could do a job at this level, be a bloody poor one though, I would rather we get someone who will light up the division, probably a Fishy reader could come up with a acronym that expresses that thought.

Not sure why answering a genuine question with a genuine answer elicits 4 negative marks!

Where is Alex Kiwomya? I thought you saw him in Cleethorpes and he said he's signing for us.

For those posters not familiar with CDAJATL, bear in mind that it is normally used with more than a hint of irony, as in

‘Peter Bore, CDAJATL’

If you see it in a post it’s best to assume the poster is being humorous. It is unlikely that they genuinely think the player in question could do a job at this or maybe any level.

He was seen chasing the bus as it left for summer camp.

He had a late night in Clew and his alarm did not go off.
