On his way to join Hurst at Ipswich

Surprised Hurst didn't take Coyne with him from Shrewsbury

Bit of a shock that to be honest.

McKeown was always very complmentary when he spoke of him.

I'm sure MJ will bring in another goalie coach of equal or better qualities.

How does that work contractually.  I would have thought with coach's compensation is usually agreed.  Unless he has said he has other things he wants to explore (a lie) only to sign for lincoln.  🤔

I mentioned a few weeks back a few people behind the scenes are unhappy or unsettled with the change MJ is bringing, some people can't handle change behind the scenes (for the better of the club!) .. Has wilko left because of that? Who knows. But I'm sure there will be another anytime soon leaving the club having been here for a very very long time.

Dave Moore not happy with a sports scientist and fitness coach coming in and treading on his toes?

And other things, we are so out dated in the technological department when it comes to behind the scenes.

Strong believer that in a sport as fast paced as football you either get with the times or it passes you by.

If some staff can't handle the changes MJ wants to bring in like Luke suggests then I don't care who they are, it is time they go.

If we are to be a success then we all need to be in it together.

Best wishes to Andy with his future.

Re what some have said re other staff not liking What’s going on - this is Jolleys revolution, sign on or leave. Simple. We have to move with the times.

Might sound harsh but...never saw an improvement in Macca's biggest flaw while Warrington was "coaching" him....commanding his area and collecting crosses is as poor as its ever been....now if i was a specialist coach and i could see the flaw i wouldnt be happy until i had found a way to improve it.

Agree with this but didn't Bignot try to make changes and there was a revolt allegedly.

Not saying this will happen under Jolley.

Difference is, MJ knows what he’s doing.

I'd go as far as saying if this had been announced 4 or 5 weeks ago then we may well have been seeking a new first choice keeper.
I get the impression that McKeown likes to be settled, comfortable and relaxed and that includes working with someone he knows, likes and appreciates.
The new guy may not have the instant rapport and that could upset Macca. Not everyone needs a kick and taking out their comfort zone, some need continuity.

But you very rarely see continuity in lower league football - coaching teams are always chopping and changing. Surely a big part of being a professional footballer is being adaptable?!?

Or maybe people are thinking Macca is a professional who's worked under a number of management teams and will actually just get on with it and not let a change in coach affect him too much!!

Yea, if Macca only signed because of AW our issues are far greater than we ever thought. I would imagine JM has signed because he believe in what’s happening around the club currently and wants to be part of it after a very up and down 6 years with us.

I’m sure AW was only a tiny part of why Macca signed a new deal. A higher wage (I assume), a 3 year deal, and keeping his family settled in the area would have been far higher on his reasons to stay when you listen to his interviews.

As others have said, Warrington seems a good bloke, but how much has Macca improved in the last few years? Probably a bit but he has always been a superb shot stopper, his weakness has always been commanding his box, and that has probably got a little better but is still not good enough to make a keeper who can go much higher imho.

He is still young in keeping terms though and if he did improve on that then he certainly has the other attributes to play at a higher level, ideally with us.

Did bloody well to play for another 12/13 years on & off without wearing gloves.

I'm assuming *sam* meant in a coaching capacity?

Steve Sherwood...born 10/12/53 , played his last game for Gainsborough Trinity in 98.  Great keeper in his time but a little past it now. All for the former Town connection when it comes to appointing staff but stretching a bit this one  ;D

New gaffers have their own ideas. I was so impressed the way Jolley got a team of no-hopers to believe in themselves. If they can't hack it get out Jolley knows what he wants.

In which case the idle sods should get busy putting a counter argument in print as you have instead of just jumping on the easy way out every time they disagree with a viewpoint. It is a forum not a popularity poll.
