Lincoln City

On 20 October 2016, Whitehouse signed for National League club Lincoln City for an undisclosed fee.[21] He finished 2016–17 with 34 appearances and 6 goals[13] as Lincoln were promoted to League Two as National League champions.[22] Whitehouse scored the only goal as Lincoln beat Shrewsbury Town 1–0 at Wembley Stadium on 8 April in the 2018 EFL Trophy Final, with a close-range shot in the 16th minute.[23]

He was offered new contract by Lincoln at the end of the 2017–18 season.[24]

I can't see why he would join us ahead of his present club unless we really offered him a bigger salary and even then he is leaving last years playoff team for us!?

Would do a great job as a sitting midfielder for us and to take him would be a sharp jab in the face for that smarmy tw@t Danny Cowley.

He doesn't sit in front of the back four though, plays more advanced.

He wants more game time and Cowleys can't guarantee him that

7 red crosses? Is that how many Lincoln fans are registered?

This 'rumour' appeared on a twitter account with just 25 followers. Hardly likely to have any truth in it

Firstly he is not a sitting midfielder, he plays just behind the front pair.
And I am not sure it would be a blow to Danny/Us, because he barely plays - He only got games towards the end either because Bostwick had to drop to centre half or Frecklington was injured. I would imagine that has been reflected in the contract we have offered. We need better as our aspirations are to get promoted.

Hence we have just got the best player from the National League last year for that position, who scored 22 goals.
