Lincoln didn't rate him at all, Tranmere did though. Think we'd need stronger in the starting XI.

Like Luke Summerfield then?! It doesn’t tell the full story.

He's too busy posting inspirational quotes on his instagram account these days.

I think Ginelly worth a one year deal had good spells at Lincoln and Tranmere at National League level, would add pace out wide aswell and to be fair he looked decent with pace in the play off final to he was hit it with a beer bottle from the crowd.

"Tranmere’s League Two rivals Grimsby Town are understood to have held talks with winger Josh Ginnelly following his release by Burnley".

I live in Lincoln and the chaps I work with spoke quite well of him.  With him being an ex Burnley man as well perhaps MJ knows how to get the best out of him.

One out of so many. I always look at fans forums if most are critical it's very rare we see something different.

JL was signed from Bury, or his last club before joining us was Bury.

What about the other way round....Palmer, Arnold, Hearn

Back in the day we signed Gordon Hobson from Lincoln. He did ok, but not as good as we had hoped.

Yeah he was terrible wasn’t he? He finished top scorer in his one season with us and Southampton paid four times what we paid to sign him 🤔

He was a brilliant player Hobson. I know what you mean though - I always felt he was not quite as good as he ought to be - just that little something was missing when if he could have found it he would have been a Town legend.

Having said that it is very harsh on a great player like Gordon Hobson when you consider what dross we have been served in the last 15-20 years.

So we signed him from Lincoln and then Lincoln signed him back?  I seem to remember the Town v Lincoln game during the season we had Birtles that Hobson played for Lincoln in defense.....I think.

We signed Hobson from Lincoln then he went to Southampton in the top division so not a bad player, even though he walked out on us to go to Southampton,

Rod Fletcher was one of a few players that played for us Lincoln and Scunthorpe and he was only part time he had a job as a school teacher,

AND

We paid £20,000 for him which was a lot of money in the day.

He couldn’t even get into the tranmere side in the conference regularly so is this the kind of player we should be looking at ?
Posted by: Madeleymariner, June 2, 2018, 12:40pm; Reply: 30
hes got pace and a bit of skill, go for it, hes free, that leaves us then with 2 proper winger type players in Dembele and Ginelly both still learning the game.

I wasn't really talking about Lincoln. I raised the point that the poster indicated a player with bad reviews who did well. My point was if you read fans reviews from clubs. Invariably if they are mostly negative. The player we see is as they describe. Sam Kelly for example. Players like Alan Connell and Podge Amond although they didn't tear their leagues up were still highly thought of and when they played you could see why.
Just saying Nolan bucked the trend doesn't blow the theory out of the water.

This was never a rumour in the first place for me.

Just a fake twitter account pretending to be a "source" tweeting for kicks/attention, and everyone buys into it without considering where the info comes from,

Think he also played for Scunthorpe didn’t he?

He certainly played for Skegness in lLincs League and Ferryboat in Lincoln Sunday League as played against him. Now that I am on role of completely useless facts I seem to recall kid in our class, a border at De Aston called Kevin Skane Davies, was once brother in law to Clive, first marriage I believe, but could be bollox and my memory playing me up.
