I can remember early 2000's Lee Sharpe at Blundell Park. did he ever play a competitve game for town?

Hope someone here can jog my memory, thanks.

Had a trial in 2002, wasn't offered a deal and signed for Exeter instead

Apparently wanted 1 grand a game, about the going rate at that time for a footballing mercenary.

Had the luxury of seeing him do a talk at the beachy on Friday night. All I'll say is I'm glad they was free tickets  ;D

If I remember correctly  he only did one days training with us,

He told the club how much it would be to sign for us,

The club said   How Much ??????    ;D

Yeah I think it was the pre season before the 2001/02 season? I could be wrong? I seem to remember us having Gary Ablett on trial that summer as well. If I remember correctly Sharpe was due to play for us in a friendly against possibly Hull or someone but left. Like said above it was a brief trial.
