Croft

Yeah, don't know why he isn't in the list, but didn't he play as a right back in his second spell here?

Anyway, has to be Gally for left back.

He was #20 when he came back I think.

Was tempted to go for Andrew but has to be Gallimore really.

Gali without a doubt. Not only for his footballing ability but admirable off the field "capacity".

Yeah, got to be Gally for me. As long as he could have a double voddy before the game.  ;)

I thought it was quite apt when he played for Barnsley and they were sponsored by VK.

Gallimore.

Probably under-appreciated at the time.

Considering the level he played at Galli.

But Croft should be on the list IMO a better footballer than Galli.

Gally, hands down

In terms of impact within a team, Danny Andrew, as he was clearly the best player in an average team, but Gallimore was a better player.

Definitely under-appreciated at the time, but class compared to everything we’ve had since. Even Barnard, with his international pedigree, wasn’t close for me.

I’ve always wondered what he could’ve achieved in the game had he adopted a less liquid based diet. I reckon he could’ve played in the prem.

Gally for me best drunk up player I have ever seen loved picking up the girls he pulled early in the morning drink may hay not have spoilt his game but his bedroom skills certainly suffered according to the girls

I know a girl who stuck a vibrator up his bottom . So it has to be Gally for that reason alone . He was also the best left back in my lifetime but that’s the boring reason .

Gallimore will be rightly chosen, but a little mention for Connor Townsend, who might have been the best technically during the Fishy era.

Galli tho No3 should be Croft

Mate, I think it's because Gary Croft primarily represented GTFC as a left back in the period 1992-1996, and this isn't in the 'Fishy era'. I would presume this is why he isn't included, as he would indeed be the best 'footballer' in my view if he was. He did return briefly in 2005 of course, but I presume that Rob deems that period isn't sufficient to bring him into consideration against the other options.

Pound for pound one of the best players I’ve seen in a Town shirt in the context of the level we were playing at (Beasant, Oster and Todd the others in the mix), but ultimately he’s still yet to play at a level Gallimore played well over 200 times.

That in itself is a reminder of how good Gallimore, and in fact most of our team from that era, was.

Gallimore, of course. A surprisingly capable physical specimen, despite his off-field antics generally involving alcohol. Could probably have played at a higher level without the booze.

I'll never forget his free-kicks around the box (which always hit the second man in the wall, around knee-height) and his penalty miss for Barnsley which prompted a refrain of, "We love you Galli, we do!" after he'd spent the rest of the game suffering dog's abuse from the Town fans...

Good point. I feel a dope. I retract my vote for Crofty. It's got to be Galli.

Besides, Crofty used to dye his hair  ;)
